This year’s Decorator Showcase in San Francisco was incredibly inspiring. I was especially drawn to Tineke Triggs’ sexy and seductive living room with gold wallpaper and such confident use of mood and scale. The curation of art in the blue salon and the primary bedroom felt both collected and deeply intentional, adding personality without overpowering the spaces. I also loved the pantry — playful, welcoming and unexpectedly chic — and the dramatic glamorous red powder room. Well done San Francisco:)

Today and every day, I miss her smile, the way she moved through life with so much love, grace, and strength.
A full-time teacher, a wife, and a mother of two, she was always there for her three sisters and her own parents. Every day, she came home at lunch to cook us and her father in law a homemade lunch, helped with homework while preparing dinner in a beautiful home, danced around the living room with my dad, organized family vacations around Europe every summer and all of it with her beautiful smile.
And yet, life gave her so many challenges: losing my father when she was only 52, and then loosing her own battle with cancer 10 years later, at 64.
Twenty-one years without you, Mom, and I still dream and wish you were here.
Today, cherish your mothers. Treat them like queens, because they truly are queens and Happy Mother’s Day to all the queens out there.

Floral design has always been one of my favorite creative pleasures. For my birthday celebration, I had the joy of visiting the flower market with my Parisian best friend to curate lush, layered arrangements that became the heart of the event.
Entertaining, for me, begins long before guests arrive — it starts with designing an atmosphere by developing a cohesive color story through richly textured linens, collected vases, curated tableware, abundant candlelight, and organic floral compositions that bring warmth, elegance, and personality to the table.
It was such a divine moment — being surrounded by so much beauty while sharing the company of my family and closest friends.

To me, cabinetry is the fine art of construction. It sits right between structure and design, and it takes someone extremely detail-oriented to get it right—those contractors are hard to find.
Creating cabinetry that is both beautiful and functional isn’t easy. It has to organize a space while also contributing to the overall aesthetic. Now that the house is complete, being able to focus on our cabinets has been a real pleasure, especially when seeing my vision coming to life.
This is a small cabinet in my office, which I share with all of our coats near the entry. The doors are made of walnut and painted pine plywood. I like that he reaches the 10 feet high ceiling. As we all know storage is very precious in San Francisco! :)

Sometimes, taking a bold design approach is necessary. I’ve always gravitated toward a restrained, monochromatic palette—most of the homes I’ve designed have been layered in white-on-white, with contrast introduced through soft furnishings like pillows, rugs, art and accent pieces.
So choosing to paint the original 150-year-old Victorian doors in a deep anthracite gray from @benjaminmoore was a deliberate departure. I ended up appreciating the strong and architectural contrast so much that I decided to carry the same finish onto the mantel around the @okellsfireplacesf and the shelving next to it.
Today, I styled the shelves and the composition feels balanced, cohesive, and far more dynamic than my usual approach. And the extra bonus is the disappearance of the @sonos sound system and the @samsung frame TV, which is perfect for someone like me who never watches television.
Sometimes, stepping outside your comfort zone and embracing contrast is exactly what a space—and a person—needs.

India has been a life changing experience. We are here to create a documentary about Homes Of Hope, and extraordinary organization solely dedicated to rescuing and raising orphaned, enslaved, and trafficked girls in India — safely, with dignity, education, and opportunity.
Paul Wilkes, the founder of this incredible organization was struck by a tiny girl, named Reena. One of Reena’s eyes was perfect, dark, bright, the other eye was terribly scarred and dull. Reena had been begging on the streets with her mother who was mentally ill. They were separated in the downtown crowds. Reena was kidnapped by the “beggar mafia,” who held her down hand and foot, and plunged a darning needle into her eye. They wanted her not only to be a beggar, but a “better” beggar to bring them even more money. This is not just the story of one little girl but many more in India.
Today more than 5,000 marginalized girls have received shelter, healthcare, education from Homes of Hope India with the loving guidance from devoted sisters, teachers, and volunteers who refuse to let these girls be forgotten.
The documentary will be coming out soon, and I get to do all this with my love @dougwerby and his amazing team. Thank you @homesofhopeindia for entrusting us.

We’ll be shooting with our team for 2 weeks and take a few days off before to visit the golden triangle. I am so happy about this project. I love to travel with a purpose and volunteering has been a goal for years.
Please follow @homesofhopeindiafpr updates during the shoot. The purpose of the doc is funding so whatever you can do to spread the word. Thanks
