I get that I may not look like people’s expectation of a professional working with animals, and my aesthetic may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but last I checked, the animals don’t care. My tattoos don’t affect my skills. My nose ring doesn’t prevent me from bottle feeding. The goth animal girl to rescue pipeline is real. There are a LOT more of us than you’d think.
If anyone wants to make further negative comments about my appearance, that’s totally fine, but it’s going to cost you a $20 donation to the rescue per comment or one hour of volunteering to clean poop.
Also, I’m married, so I don’t really care how fuckable or not 65 year old Billy Joe Bob finds me.
Spending all of your time and money trying to do something positive, only to have loser ass old men tear you apart online for how you look, is so deeply, existentially tiring.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I now have twelve mouths to feed. Have the day you wish for people who don’t look like you.
(Side note, there’s nothing wrong with having a receding hairline and beer belly, all bodies are good bodies, but don’t throw stones in glass houses. If you go low, I will go to Hell.)
