Before the concepts.
before the SYG universe.
before the magazine layouts, the collaborations, the direction, the language, the confidence, the understanding.
there was just “Mettro.”
A young creative standing inside uncertainty with nothing but instinct, imagination, and a feeling he couldn’t explain yet.
No blueprint.
no audience.
no proof that any of this would work.
Just late nights, ideas nobody around him fully understood, and a vision that still hadn’t found its final form.
Looking back now, this photo feels less like documentation and more like prophecy.
Because somewhere inside these shadows was the beginning of someone learning how to transmute isolation into art, pressure into identity, and creativity into purpose.
The person in this photo didn’t know it yet, but the next two years would completely alter the trajectory of his life.
The people. the collaborators. the experiences. the losses. the revelations. all of it would begin finding him the moment he committed to becoming himself fully.
