Ten years ago today, Arthur picked me up from orchestra rehearsal, and sat me down on my back patio and asked me if I’d be his girlfriend, and I said yes.
My family and friends gained someone who has truly made a mark on our lives. 10 years feels crazy, but somehow no time at all.
Not much longer after he asked me to be his girlfriend, I confessed my love to him on my knees in a Chewbacca costume to the tune of David Bowie’s “Heroes.”
I cannot express how thankful I am for this wild, wonderful, silly dude coming into our lives and making things so much brighter. I love you till the end of all of our days. Let’s keep party rocking. 10 years. Let’s go.
My sweet boy, my brother. Tamas. His body has retired but his strong spirit lives in all of us. I never saw my Tommy boy as my pet, but as my equal. We took care of each other. He taught me some real life lessons that I try to reflect on, especially now since I can’t give him the pets he so adamantly demanded.
Tamas had a unique trait for a cat. Any cat he met outside of his sister, Mia—he immediately gave them warmth and comfort and could soothe even the most trepidations cat. He could make friends with any human, any fellow cat! And they would love him right back. Tamas was never territorial. He welcomed anyone and everyone with open arms. He always kept one paw down on my foot when I saw him. I swear he was demanding me to stay grounded.
As his final lesson for us, when he decided it was time for him to go to the Heaviside Lair, he brought us all together. My whole family came to bid our farewells. We cried, hard. We laughed. We ate. He brought us together one last time.
Tamas is not just a pet cat. He is family. His spirit is very strong. Mvto, Tamas. Thanks for letting us know when you were done and reminding us, as always—what is most important. Hvtvm cehecares! Ecenokecis! We will take good care of your sister and the rest of your family! I will see you again my sweet brother!

Fancy Dance is finally here. đź’ś
I’ve been sitting on just this little fraction of BTS photos for 2 years. Fancy Dance was made out of the blood, sweat, and tears (emphasis on the sweat) by our Oklahoma film family. This crew showed up every day in the Oklahoma summer heat and made art that is so important, so poignant and powerful. Even during the hardest scenes, we would still laugh and have fun. Seeing all my friends names roll through the credits will always make me cry, every time. I am so proud of all of them. I am proud of us.

When I first got the Fancy Dance script I read it all in one sitting. I was in tears by the end. It reminded me of my time as a legal advocate for a public defense office in the family defense practice. It reminded me of my former clients. It reminded me of the countless real life cases I encountered regarding child removal, defending our clients, working with ICWA workers—so many stories of Native children being ripped away from their families and community. I hope Fancy Dance gives perspective on the roots of indigenous family, what it means to protect one another despite the odds, and most importantly—a future where those bonds are paramount, and our languages play a role in that bond.

3. Vanessa and her aliens! Round one of aliens this season. She constructed the suits and Linda and I helped hand sew the piping.

5. Boarding school dresses. Each and every one deconstructed and sewn back together. Long days of sewing for this one. I knocked out 6 seasons of Game of Thrones in one week while sewing that week

8. Creepy cloth for the zombie nuns. I had this cloth sitting in my attic for years. I went and picked it up to incorporate it into the costumes and it made it on screen.
9. 3 replicas of a Dana Tiger t-shirt I got to re-draw and print for Wes Studi. This project was a huge honor!

I guess it’s time for my Rez Dogs season 3 wrap post. It’s hard to put this experience into words and everyone has already said the important parts. This entire crew is a dream come true. Everyone makes you smile and laugh till your face and stomach hurts. Every single department and crew member is wildly talented with so much passion it’s mind blowing. I am especially proud of my department, my team, my lil family. Costumes made some shit happen that you wouldn’t believe till you see it. Especially proud of our fearless leader @alyssablairrr who has been the best designer anyone could ever work for. I am proud to have helped made her vision come to life for this show. It’s nothing short of an honor to be a member of this team and this crew. Mvto to everyone that made this happen. I can’t wait to share more as the season premieres. You all are so precious to me! #reservationdogs
