Better Housing Now was the keystone event of last week's festival. Over four sessions, the symposium took an in-depth and critical look at the complex and interconnected issues that have created an unaffordable Sydney. The sessions, titled ‘Housing and the City, ‘Work in Progress’, ‘Squaring the Circle’, and ‘A Call to Action’, involved some of Sydney's leading organisations, advocacy groups, and designers. A variety of problems were discussed, and a number of solutions were proposed in response.
It was a fantastic event, and we would like to thank all the partners who were involved: Committee for Sydney, Shelter NSW, GANSW with City Futures UNSW, Women’s Housing Company, Western Sydney University, Capella Capital, NSW Land and Housing Corporation, SGCH, UTS: University of Technology Sydney, Partners Hill, UNSW, Karakusevic Carson Architects, Tenants' Union of NSW, Bridge Housing Limited, Urban Apostles, and Realm Studios.
Sydney Architecture Festival went out with a bang with our 'Architectures of Affordability' event, featuring British architect and London Mayor's Design Advocate Paul Karakusevic, and celebrated Australian architect Timothy Hill. 💥💥💥

Yesterday, BVN Architects hosted a walking tour of Marrickville Library, focused on how a heritage building combines with contemporary architecture to create an ideal space for the diverse community.
Following the tour, a special edition of Architecture Street talks, featuring speakers from SJB Architects, explored the potential and possibilities for housing affordability in the Inner West. 👉 There is still so much more to discover in the Sydney Architecture Festival.
