As part of this exhibition that centers interdependence, reciprocity, and care as models for art making, The Sex Workers Guide to Parenting documentary can be viewed within the “It’s not a whore house, it’s a whore home” installation by @kimyekimyekimye
This documentary was inspired by our multi-year project that started with gathering LA-area sex worker parents together (2022) to discuss how their work and family lives impacted each other, and resulted in the ProMomme parenting zine designed by SWOPLA’s own @mailordermilf and co-published with @cashmachinela and @smingsmingbooks (2024).

The Sex Worker’s Guide to the Apocalypse (SWGA) is officially in motion, and it’s exactly what our community needs right now!
We’ve secured funding to pay our 16 contributors, who are putting the final touches on their written pieces, pouring their experience and wisdom into every page. We still need support to bring the rest of this vision to life: printing the guide, producing the videos, and hosting the carnival. One of our biggest priorities? Making sure this guide is free and accessible to worker–focused and aligned organizations.
