Hello friends,
Thank you so much for supporting Sweet Fix through 14 incredible years. Being one of Richmond’s top custom cake studios has been one of the greatest honors of our journey.
After leaving the nonprofit world in 2013 to build Sweet Fix and spend more time with my daughter, I never expected the business to grow into what it became. I am deeply grateful for all the support we’ve received through the many phases of growth. Keeping the business small while meeting demand has been a challenge, but one that has shaped everything we’ve done.
In 2026, I am entering an exciting new chapter. I have returned to my roots at Gallery5, the nonprofit arts organization I founded 21 years ago, while also building a new nonprofit, Virago Alley, which is launching the Richmond Renaissance Faire in Spring 2026 , an event that will continue to expand creative opportunities in our city. Because of this transition, I have set an end date for my staff so I can dedicate myself fully to this next chapter.
✨ Most importantly: If you are a 2026 client with a confirmed booking, your order is fully secure and will be fulfilled as planned. However, the kitchen will be closed to new orders after Thanksgiving.
Sweet Fix is not closing due to lack of business or support. In fact, inquiries continue to exceed what we can accommodate, and we are profoundly grateful to the community that has lifted us up over the years.
We are incredibly thankful of our team, past and present. We’ve received wonderful support from reality TV, and are thrilled that
@marjdotjpg was recently featured on Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking. We will continue celebrating her future opportunities and the amazing work of our former staff.
Although the bakery will be closing its doors, our creative community is not going anywhere. I will remain active here, sharing updates, uplifting our former team, and returning to my passion for realistic 3D sculpted cakes for friends, family, and personal enjoyment.
Thank you, truly, for 14 unforgettable years of celebration & creativity. I can’t wait to bring you along for this next chapter.
Warmly,
Amanda Robinson /
