An unforgettable moment in London! I’m excited to share a glimpse of the event I’ve organized with @maisongb for the @nexartmarket gallery’s opening, where brutalist architecture took center stage through my creations. The idea was to create a playful and interactive experience, allowing each participant to explore and savor the beauty of pastry while connecting with art. Geometric shapes and rugged textures came to life, inviting everyone to join in this delicious adventure. Thank you to everyone who made this evening a memorable success! Concrete Food
A standing dining experience designed to connect guests with ingredients from the earth through tactile interaction and communal engagement. The presentation embraces a brutalist aesthetic, aligning with the spirit of Nexart Market, where artists present their work in a direct manner. This echoes the process of grocery shopping—sourcing ingredients from diverse places and preparing them with care. Following the introductory performances, guests are invited to explore several food stations: Bread sculptures with hummus Concrete-look black sesame butter with charcoal crackers Rice paper with miso, mushroom, and coffee gel, or nori, shaded in grey Self-service serigraphy with beetroot hummus on lavash Concrete fudges and citrus fruit gums Chaotic candle soil with caramel and dried apple slicesBrutalist molly cake with tonka, roasted almonds, and whipped ganache For this occasion, @maisongb was honored to collaborate with: @kilian_menard_pro (head chef, based in Paris), who translated the vision into edible experiences @angaqquk.collective for a bespoke performance piece @food.relics for the readings @pietromolinaris for the cake structure @isa.chia and @javixenxo for documentation @e5bakehouse for the charcoal bread @drink.sahara and @bobo_wines for their generous support @zichengguu for volunteering This event would not have been possible without Sissi and Yiwen, the organizers of the main event @nexartmarket , hosted by the incredible @yourxyzworld and @ninnipannini . Sahara took part of Maisongb’s special standing immersive dining experience, with Chef Kilian Menard and Giuseppe Burdo, during Nexart Market at XYZ Space. Sahara served a Long Mirage Martini and Desert Tonic. This dinner is a celebration of simplicity and purpose in the selection and combination of seasonal ingredients. The dinner celebrates simplicity and purpose in the selection and combination of seasonal ingredients. The menu will be entirely vegetarian.
