This Thursday (May 14), my book Around The World in 80 Clubs is released in the UK.
It's a collection of weird and wonderful football stories off the beaten track and it's the culmination of 20 years of following football in unusual locations.
The book starts in Greenland where I visited in 2016 to watch the one-week national championships in Nuuk. I nearly got arrested on entry and then watched as a former Eritrean child soldier led his team to glory watched by crowds perched on the rocks above.
From punch-ups in the Vatican to games ending 149-0 to a man on holiday accidentally being given a national team job, Around The World in 80 Clubs is full of stories I've been longing to tell for years!

Did you know that the founder of the city of Donetsk is buried less than 2 miles away from Selhurst Park?! 🇺🇦🏴
Welshman John Hughes travelled to the East of Ukraine in the second half of the 19th century - developed metal works in the area and built a town in the shadows of the factories 🏭🏭🏭
That town grew into modern day Donetsk and Shakhtar Ultras still chant the original name in ode to their city’s Welsh founder!
