OUT TODAY— 🌊 Theory of Change
My debut original album — and Splntrd Wood’s second — is here! Theory of Change harnesses a chorus of retuned cellos in a meditation on the constantly shifting experience of life. It’s a love letter to the persistent flow of change: of the seasons, of the tides, of how we transform from day to day, year to year. Each of the album’s seven movements reveals a different musical landscape, with its own mood and flow, that endeavors to describe both the cyclical nature of life and the singularity of every moment. Starting with a cataclysmic event and moving to a place of deep calm, the album invites listeners to navigate these evolving, breathing landscapes— and, more deeply, to reflect on how change moves through us when new environments confront us. What does it mean to show up fully—to feel and respond—in each new space we find ourselves, as the world reshapes itself around us? No matter how dark or light, the only certainty is that the moment is changing. Theory of Change invites us to dwell in that motion and feel its unfolding.

Meet the second of our two guests on this project!
Hailing from Cuba, Ismael Ariel Guerrero Bombut a virtuoso cellist has performed all over the world as soloist and chamber musician. Currently he is a Resident Fellow at the Los Angeles Philharmonic and a Salon de Virtuosi’s Career Grant winner. Guerrero, passionate about serving the community and making classical music more accessible to the public has been a part of outreach programs throughout the US and abroad. He has recently taught Masterclasses at top universities and currently teaches at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music.

Based in LA, captivating Korean-Canadian cellist Jaewon Ahn @jw.vc lights up stages worldwide from Carnegie Hall to Coachella and then to our screens through Netflix, her musical journey is a whirlwind of excitement. Beyond the stage she coaches young talent through various engagement programs and recently her students were featured in a concert at the famed Carnegie Hall.
A little birdie also told me that she had openings in her studio so if you are looking for an amazing teacher give her a DM or talk to her after one of our shows!
