Glimpses of the challenges women face in the whole world, let alone India.  Knowing one's own fears is the biggest and acting on them is the hardest…for humans. At #HutheesinghVisualArtCentre , CEPT ; 32 young women exhibited how they not only ‘know’ , but ‘realized’ , ‘learned’ ,  and ‘Act’ed on their fears.  As much it was an accomplishment to have a successful yet lively Exhibition ; it was more a proud opportunity to showcase their untold stories of Struggle and Rise.

The Swati Initiative hosted a heartfelt exhibition at the Hutheesing Visual Arts Centre, where 32 young girls brought forward their stories of courage, creativity, and self-discovery. What visitors witnessed was not just an art showcase, but the spirit of young minds daring to explore, question, and imagine new possibilities. Each piece carried the journey behind it, the trials and triumphs, the stumbles and the rise, the moments of doubt and the sparks of resilience. The exhibition celebrated the process of becoming: learning, unlearning, and finding strength in the act of expression itself. The overwhelming appreciation from visitors turned the event into a shared celebration of growth and imagination. It reminded us that voices of young girls matter, their dreams matter, and their journeys deserve to be seen and supported. For us at the Swati Initiative, it reaffirmed our commitment to building spaces where such voices can continue to shine brighter. #SwatiInitiative #HutheesingVisualArtsCentre #ArtForChange #VoicesOfGirls #YouthEmpowerment #CreativeJourneys #HerFutureHerVoice #ResilienceInArt #CelebratingImagination #ArtWithPurpose

In today’s world, youth leadership is more critical than ever 🌍 After months of reflection and imagination, our young feminists are stepping into Phase 3 of the #FeminisFutures Learning Lab: Shaping Change. This is where dreams become practice, and visions turn into impact. In this phase, they move from ‘reflection’ to ‘rhetoric’ to ‘real-action’—where these young females take bold steps to create equitable futures. Their work is a reminder that social change is not just envisioned—it is practiced. #youthvoices #shapingchange

Last month, I had the joy of spending time with the incredible girls from program Feminist Futures - A girl's learning lab for leadership by @swatingo (Society for Women's Action and Training Initiative) 💛 I’ve put together some stills and clips from our workshop, a small attempt to share what was truly a transformative experience. But honestly, no caption or voiceover could ever fully capture what I felt or learned during those days. Grateful, moved, and deeply inspired. 🌿✨ Photos and Videos: @naishaoza09 Special Thanks: @poonam_kathuria1 @aanchalguptaa_ #YouthVoices #Neembaadi #SWATI #CommunityLearning #GirlsLead

To be told about it is one thing. To read about it another. But you know it, when you see it. Freedom is such a thing, it glints in your eyes, beats in your heart and is couched deep within, spread across your smiles. Like these girls'. We saw their freedom and how it cost them. They've earned it and carry it on their sleeves, flaunting it. Independence done right. Powered by SWATI, MJAS, Vikalp Sansthan

Earlier this month, Nazariya was honoured to present our paper "Reimagining Safety: Queer and Trans Experiences and Survivor-Centered and Community-Led Responses" at the kNOw Fear National Symposium, co-organized by @swatingo , TISS, and @instituteofsocialstudiestrust . Drawing from our work and the lived realities of LBQT persons we shared reflections on how safety is imagined and built through community, chosen families, and collective care. The paper talks about how safety is defined and reclaimed by queer and trans individuals navigating violence across homes, institutions, and public spaces. Grateful for the space to reflect, connect, and reaffirm the need for community-led responses, not surveillance-based safety. #ReclaimingSpaces #QueerFeministLens #LBQTVoices #NazariyaSpeaks #CommunityCare #KnowFearSymposium #QueerAndTransRights #RuralPublicSpaces

Day 2. Panel 2: Structural and Intersectional Violence This panel focused on the systemic exclusion faced by Dalit, Adivasi, and Denotified Tribe (DNT) women in accessing justice and public spaces. Discussions highlighted how caste-based and intersectional violence are deeply embedded within institutions, communities, and legal frameworks — making justice inaccessible for many. Speakers emphasised that trust-building, legal literacy, and a caste-aware feminist approach are essential to challenge these exclusions.A key takeaway: legal reform is not enough. Transforming the mindsets of state actors, law enforcement, and communities is crucial to ensuring meaningful justice and safer public spaces for all. Led by inspiring moderators, researchers, and community leaders, each dialogue was a call to action. ✅ Gendered violence in public spaces ✅ Tools for safety audits & inclusive design ✅ Schooling norms that reinforce gender barriers ✅ Policy frameworks for safer futures The key message was: When women & marginalized communities reclaim public and spaces, it becomes a safe space for all.
