i saw a video online that talked about how it’s important to be able to talk about how remarkable your life really is. i had so many conversations on this tour about representation & how hard it is to see yourself chasing a dream when you don’t see people who look like you living that dream in reality. so i don’t know who needs to hear this - but i’m a queer, south asian, first generation rockstar.
especially in a time where immigrants and queer people are being unjustly targeted, i wanna start sharing my story more and show how resilience, joy, and self expression has saved me time and time again
lemme know in the comments if this resonates, or if you share any pieces of my story.
i’d also love to make more of these and expand… like what does it look like to maintain a strong relationship to my roots & family despite it all, growing up desi in the midwest, my journey with coming out, idk, yeah❤️ i’m proud af of me & my hgs in pinkshiftmd because all three of us share big pieces of this story and i wouldn’t have gotten thru it all without them
