Rumination, "a deep or considered thought about something."
The first in a series of collaborations between @camerahead and @yumes_714 brought upon a unique performative installation that married the ideas of dance with photography.
The photographs in this series suggest moments that reflect the specific realities of neurodivergencies and ADHD. The photographs, printed on silk organza and suspended from the ceiling, become delicate, floating translucent forms. The translucency of the silk allows for visual play among the layered images, suggesting the world inside someone’s mind. These suspended silk images create a floating display for the viewer to get lost in. As diverse human beings, we each have preferred ways of accessing knowledge. By including sound and performance in this collaborative project, we will provide multiple points of entry into the content. The audience is encouraged to touch, move, listen, and interact with the artwork. The performances and audience participation also serve to encourage the desire to wander through the maze of images and experience the excitement of discovery, emphasizing the interactive and playful forms of viewing art.
Once dormant from slumber, the idea of Rumination as a collaborative art venture has been brought back into light. The series' original focus is to bring awareness to the underrepresented aspects of ADHD and mental health. With that said, the goal of Rumination being an open concept, this series will also invite opportunities for other artists to bring into light other forms of the human condition.
