Vishu, growing up, was something I never had to think about. It was already happening around me. In the noise, in the kitchen, in the way the house felt full without trying. I didn’t carry it then. It carried me. Now, it’s different. There’s work. There’s a home to run. There are a hundred things that need me before I can even think of pausing. And still, I do. Not the way it used to be. Not with that same noise or those same people. But in tiny ways that fit into the life I’ve built. I choose to stop. I choose to drape the mundu. I choose to hold on to these pieces .. even when nothing and no one around me asks me to. Because somewhere along the way, it became my responsibility to keep it alive. സ്മൃതി. It is not merely a memory but something that sits within me, something I return to, even on the busiest days. It may not look like what I grew up with. But it’s still mine to carry forward.
