BTS of Precious Light 💡 This was not only a set dec heavy project (s/o @statesupplyprops for the hampers of books) but also had multiple builds. Over the course of 3 days we needed to erect 2 builds that went from floor to ceiling and wall to wall, while also being about to access the space behind them, withstand hammering some large holes and be completely torn down and wrapped. Note that we were over an hour from the nearest Lowe’s or Home Depot and had to prep site unseen. Somehow @olonoffdavid and I pulled this off and I couldn’t be more helpful for the loads drywall and 2x4s that he carried up and down flights of stairs. 🔨 @nickonchemati had a crazy story to bring to life and captured an insanely surrealist world that pushed us to think outside the box 🫐 And of course, @matthewcanada was kind enough to recommend me and continues to be one of my favorite collaborators…more projects to come from the two of us! Some Before & Afters, BTS and graphics from ‘Remnants of Nova’ ✨ This world was so fun to create with @barkernotbaker , @kimmiedevereux , @rormsby3 & @emilykordovich ! Couldn’t of pulled it off without @ricky.dngr and our ability to communicate with looks and grunts 💕 @leragelman came through and helped us find the perfect locations, while we were already shooting and things fell through last minute. And I meant the incredible @poptheproducer who served a glorious and sassy performance!

Some Before & Afters and BTS from ‘Bury It!’ First off a s/o to @olonoffdavid who was my first friend in NYC and many years ago when we were just starting in the industry we talked about wanting to be a director and PD. So proud of us 💕 As for the film, almost the entire location was white and had to be dressed, shot in and reset over the course of a few days. Peel and stick wallpaper to the rescue. We covered the largest and most prominent wall in the basement with wood grain and the floor with cement looking contact paper and various rugs. The back room and wall were hidden by floor to ceiling deep floral curtains. There were a few hero props that called for a lot of detail including the custom pages in the old Hebrew book and the incantation bowl (s/o @breakawayglass ) which I hand drew and aged 3 of so we had some resets. This was a total team effort and included lots of puppeteering from holes drilled into the bottom of the chest and blood splatter from above. Thats all for ‘Bury It!’ but more to come from @olonoffdavid and I as we’ve collaborated on quite a few projects!

Hello there! My name is Suzy and I am a New York based Production Designer. I’ve had this account for years and never actually used it, but I have a few exciting things to share and now seems like a good time to kick things off! I have been working in the film industry for almost a decade, starting in marketing at a post production house and then making my way to my home in the art department.
