Had a few messages this morning from people checking in on the studio after the crazy rain and flooding last night in Omāroro Newtown. Thankfully we’re all safe and dry. Just me and Bonnie getting down to business. It’s pretty crazy out there though so go slow, be kind and be safe x
Stoked to have Tree making music at the Surg yesterday. He’s a Wellington icon and a super nice person, not to mention a great player of the saxophone. Was a bit tricky to get headphones onto their ears, but with some gentle tree surgery we made it work.
For those of you that have seen the recent Freak Out City show you may recall @fireflyguitar rocking out on his knees his solo for my new-ish song ‘What the F Just Happened!?! We started recording the track this week at Wellington’s golden @surgerystudios It was about 4pm and I asked Justin if he wanted to do a solo? He said, okay, sat down, and rocked this stadium vibe out without blinking. LEGEND! 🙏
We did it! This album, Broken River, was a LONG time coming. 8 years since our last release. Covid, loss and light. We got there.
