🌟 Almost a year ago, the doors of Ramp 48 closed, but our vision to give back to the community we love and invest in future generations remains strong. 🌟
We dream of finding a large facility where we can combine the vision we had at Ramp 48 with our passion for educating youth through hands-on STEM/STEAM learning. We want to deepen our collaboration with the amazing organizations that call South Florida home to create a space that inspires and empowers our youth in our area. Imagine a space for education where you do not learn by sitting at a desk but by doing and dreaming!
But with the high cost of real estate and the need for a warehouse with high ceilings, zoned for both sports and education, this has become one of the biggest challenges we’ve faced.
We’re asking for your help and prayers, South Florida. We need to raise funds and find the perfect space to bring our dreams to life. This isn’t just about a building—it’s about giving every kid the chance to see their potential and grow.
Get on board with us in this incredible mission. Donate at SurfSkateScience.com/donate and join us in praying for the perfect location that will impact generations to come. 🙏

And that’s a wrap on an incredible semester of Skate Science. 🛹⚡️
This term was filled with so much #Skatetivity, and we could not be prouder of these students. They didn’t just create amazing skateboard art… they explored the science, engineering, creativity, history, innovation and culture behind every deck .
This semester, students dove into material science, environmental science, engineering, architecture, chemistry, math, design, civics, innovation, teamwork, resilience, and problem-solving… all through the lens of skateboarding and hands-on learning.
Next term, we’re taking things even deeper as we explore the “A” in STEAM through film, photography, print media, storytelling, graphic design, and the art and science that continue to shape skate culture around the world.
Huge thanks to CreateASkate, ACE Mentoring, Skate4Concrete, NewLine Skateparks, the City of Pompano, Apple, Vans, and the many incredible partners helping us expose kids to careers in STEM and showing students that learning can be creative, meaningful, and full of purpose.

The clouds cleared, the sun came out, and our students got to experience field science the way it was meant to be experienced — hands-on, outdoors, and full of wonder.
We tagged 3 nurse sharks, learned how real shark research is done, asked big questions, made observations, and saw firsthand why sharks are so important to the health of our ocean.
This is what Surf Skate Science is all about:
not just reading about science…
but stepping into it.
Not just learning facts…
but building curiosity, courage, and respect for God’s creation.
From rainbows in the morning to sharks in the water, today was one of those days we’ll never forget. 🦈✨
We’ve got awesome down to a science.

“What time can I drop my child off?”
It’s one of the most common questions we get… and the answer surprises people.
At Surf Skate Science we are intentionally NOT a drop-off program.
Why?
Because we believe some of the most powerful learning happens when families are present.
When parents paddle out beside their kids.
When they cheer them on at the skatepark.
When they ask questions during a science lab.
When learning becomes something shared instead of outsourced.
Our program was built as a homeschool co-op and community. Not childcare.
Research continues to show that parent involvement leads to stronger confidence, emotional health, motivation, communication skills, and long-term success in kids. But beyond the research… we see the impact every single week.
We see parents trying hard things alongside their children.
We see families building friendships.
We see kids become more confident because the people they love most are part of the journey.
Yes, it requires more involvement.
Yes, it takes more intentionality.
But we believe the future needs more connected families, not less.
Fall registration is now open and many locations are already almost FULL. Thank you to the families who believe education can look different. 🌊🛹🧪

At Surf Skate Science, we team up with Create-a-Skate each year because we know that art and trades like woodworking should not be “extra” but essential.
Art teaches kids to think differently, take creative risks, communicate ideas, and see possibilities where others see limits.
And when you combine art with skateboarding, engineering, physics, design, and hands-on learning… something incredible happens.
Students begin asking deeper questions:
⚙️ How is a skateboard engineered?
🎨 Why do graphics and branding matter?
🧠 How does creativity shape culture and innovation?
🙌 What can I create that has never existed before?
Research continues to show that creative hands-on activities help kids build confidence, improve problem-solving skills, reduce stress, strengthen emotional expression, and develop the kind of innovative thinking needed for the future.
These decks are more than artwork. They are proof that kids thrive when they are given space to create, experiment, and express who they are.
Check out some of the incredible designs from our Wednesday group and show these young creators some love. 👇
And stay tuned… we still have two more Create-a-Skate groups to showcase. 🔥

Huge shoutout to @surfskatescience 🌊🔬
Eva did Surf Skate Science this semester, and it honestly exceeded every expectation I had as a homeschool mom. The program combines science, engineering, and hands-on learning in such a fun and engaging way for kids.
The surfing portion wasn’t just an added bonus — it was such a meaningful part of the experience and made learning come alive in a way that was active, exciting, and unforgettable for the kids.
We’ve been part of quite a few homeschool activities and co-ops, and this has truly been one of the best experiences we’ve had. The instructors were amazing, the environment was welcoming, and the kids genuinely looked forward to going every week.
If you’re a homeschool family looking for something unique, educational, active, and incredibly well done, I can’t recommend them enough 🤍
Today was the final Palm Beach Surf Skate Science session of the term… and these students absolutely blew us away with their creativity. 🛹🎨
From bold graphics and futuristic concepts to meaningful personal stories told through art, these Create-a-Skate decks became so much more than skateboards. They became a reflection of imagination, engineering, identity, and confidence.
Huge shoutout to legendary skateboard designer Paul Schmitt and the incredible Create-a-Skate program for giving kids the opportunity to learn the science, history, engineering, and craftsmanship behind skateboard design in such a hands-on way.
This program teaches students:
🛹 Design thinking
🧠 Problem solving
🎨 Creative expression
⚙️ Engineering concepts
🙌 Patience and perseverance
Instead of just consuming products, students become creators. They begin to understand how things are made, why design matters, and how creativity and science work together.
