Met with horse trainer Ron Ellis and his jockey before the races, and a wonderful lunch at the Front Runner Restaurant.
Claudia and I enjoyed a wonderful time in Santa Barbara while celebrating our anniversary. Although we have been married for 54 years, our relationship spans 57 years.
Wow, over a half a century together and she hasn’t killed me yet!❤️
Today is day 15 after my back surgery to fuse three of my lower vertebrae.
Still painful, but controlled by some great medication.
My first post surgery meeting was today, and I have included an x-ray showing the large number of screws in my spine.
I expect a few more weeks for full recovery after my very successful procedure at Huntington Hospital.
According to my doctor, everything looks good. 😊
Great news, my back surgery went very well yesterday afternoon with doctor Costigan at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. Now, they say, about five weeks until full recovery. One day after surgery, I feel great!
Claudia has a lot of work ahead for her, lol.
Good news today from the Veterans Administration.
After over 60 years since Vietnam, the VA approved compensation for my hearing loss. It took all this time for them to admit, working on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier, with jets on full power for takeoff, 20 feet from my position for 12 hours a day, with 130 to 140 dbs of sound pounding into my ears ,probably caused my hearing loss.
I wish everything could be this easy, lol.
Happy Birthday to my beautiful and talented daughter. Your mother and I are so proud of you. Seems like only yesterday you were twirling tall flags at Arcadia High School football games, and shooting commercials. This was for Sea World in San Diego.

Tomorrow is Super Bowl Sunday, and along with the excitement of the game, viewers always look forward to Super Bowl commercials. Doritos held a competition for the best to air on Sunday, unfortunately, we were not chosen among the thousand who entered, but I think the team did a damn good job anyway.
