Amazing workshop with @surfingsofas last week. A lightbulb moment and reminder of the power of words, creativity, and what can happen when people come together as a community.
It's been a special @whitechapelgallery over the past months, getting ready for our performance show 'LIGHTBULB MOMMENTS' on the 4th June @dalstongarden
This process has been about far more than performance. Itās been about connection, expression, recovery, and making space for one another.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey so far.

INCLUSIVE RECOVERY PROJECT ā¤ļø

If you want to help us out with the Hope Works Project in Leeds City Centre get in touch. We are looking for volunteers to help regenerate a part of the city that has started to become an eye sore. Some of our members have Lived Experience of Addiction and some donāt. We are a group that promotes Inclusive Recovery and we need help. From painting to planting come and give us a hand š¤

Criminal: An untold history of homelessness, resistance and survival š Opens on May 21st!
Criminal is a historical exhibition by @our_moh which explores the causes and criminalisation of homelessness from the 1600s to today!
Mate, I can't believe that I'm going to be in an exhibition with these 4 legends: @10foot10foot10foot10foot , @gemmathepoet , @spellingmistakescostlives and @mattbonner.art
The museumās interior will be transformed into a space of resistance, with Surfing Sofas Publishing House offering people an alternative to social media.
Museum of Homelessness have given me my own indie publishing house for 10 weeks! Crazy!
Link in bio for more info.
The flyer I used for this collage was designed by: @mattbonner.art š„

Justin runs creative workshops for people with lived experience of homelessness, shining a light on their stories through art and words.

Heās an artist, a poet, rapper, workshop facilitator, lyrical genius and an activist for homelessness. And we are so fortunate to call him a dear friend.
We caught up with @surfingsofas in Kent earlier this week to capture this acapella version of his powerful poem āHome Is Where The Heart Isā.
Thank you Surfing Sofas for all you do for the world. We are forever inspired by you and your pen. Big up and big love.
