One of the simplest ways to instantly improve your foiling… ride higher.
When you’re riding high on the mast, your foil is working at its most efficient. Less drag, more glide, more speed. It’s one of those small adjustments that makes a massive difference.
A lot of riders focus on everything else first — turns, pumping, power — but if you’re not consistently riding high, you’re leaving speed and efficiency on the table.
This becomes even more important when you’re not using a foildrive setup. The better you can control your ride height, the more efficiently you move — and the longer, faster, and smoother your runs become.
Using a foildrive setup is a great training tool. It gives you the support to practise these key skills in a more forgiving way… but the goal is always to transfer that control when you’re riding without it.
If you want one thing to focus on next session: Ride high. Stay high. Get comfortable there.
