Surf Canada Confirms 2026 Vancouver Island Longboard Surf Contest as Official Surf Canada National Longboard Championships.
Surf Canada is pleased to announce that the 2026 Vancouver Island Longboard Surf Contest, scheduled to take place June 11–14, 2026, has been officially designated as a qualifying event for the Surf Canada National Longboard Teams (Men and Women).
The event represents a key competitive pathway for Canadian longboard athletes and is recognized as a cornerstone competition within the Canadian longboard surfing calendar.
The Vancouver Island Longboard Surf Contest will bring together competitors from across the country to compete in a high-performance environment that reflects Surf Canada’s commitment to athlete development and competitive excellence.

2026 Rip Curl Nationals and Rip Curl Grom Search, taking place May 8–10, 2026, in Tofino, British Columbia.
The 2026 Rip Curl Nationals will serve as Canada’s official National Short Board Championship from May 9-10th, bringing together the country’s top surfers to compete at the highest level.
The Rip Curl Grom Search returns on Friday, the 8th, for its second year in Canada, continuing to provide a dedicated platform for the next generation of surfers. As part of a globally recognized series, the Grom Search supports youth development by offering competitive experience and exposure within an international pathway.
Together, these events represent a key moment on the national calendar, showcasing Canadian surfing and the continued development of future talent.

Surf Canada Membership is Now Open!
Surf Canada is excited to launch our new national membership program.
Membership helps support the growth of surfing and SUP across the country, including national competitions, athlete development programs, and Canadian surfers and SUPers competing on the world stage.
Beginning this season, a valid Surf Canada membership is required to compete in all Surf Canada sanctioned events, including Nationals and other official competitions.
Membership Fees
Adult (18+) — $50 per year
Junior (U18) — $30 per year
By becoming a member, you join the national surfing and SUP community, helping grow the sport in Canada.
