Imagine you've started with high quality coaching just 1 year ago. You started out full of doubts. - I'll never progress, I'm stuck for such a long time. - I've tried everything and nothing helps - No way coaching can help me. - I don't need a coach, I can do it myself And then a year later: - You're much more confident in your surfing - You're catching more waves then ever - You've got more speed and control on every wave - You know how to progress to the next steps - And you can fall back on your coach and community whenever it's needed One of the most satisfying moments is when my students finally see their own progression. Sometimes it's hard to see your own progression when you're constantly involved in the practice and training. But then you look back at the clips from a year ago and you see it. Improvement. And not a little bit. Not only improvement but also you now know the way to improve even more and have a surfcoach next to you that can guide you to your next step forward. Sascha here is on the five year online coaching program and has many more years to come to improve their surfing through Surf Academy Pro. DM or comment the word "SAP" and I'll send you more info about the program. Follow @pepijntigges to improve your surfing

This was my goal all along. Replace your average surflessons via quick and to the point lectures. COMBINED with lifetime personal coaching & video analysis is the golden solution for becoming a better surfer. Normally people pay thousands of $$$ for all this combined. I make all of this available for 95% cheaper than the average way.

Repitition is the name of the game. 🔁 Being able to practice a movement more often would improve that movement. The pathways in your brain literally change when you repeat a certain moment. Until you don't have to think about it anymore and it happens automatically (think about brushing your teeth). During a 2 hour surfsession we maybe get like 10-20 surfable waves if it's a good session. Going through the movement of a bottom- or topturn in that session is in those 10-20 waves. Being able to jump on a surfskate and mimic that bottom and topturn technique 50-100 times in half an hour will do amazing for your technique. We do have to be careful of not learning the wrong technique though. Being able to use a surfskate properly takes some research, practice and coaching. That's exactly what the course is for. Send me a DM if you want to use surfskating to improve your surfing. 💃

This is why I do what I do. ❤️ The positive feedback from the people who I help improve their surfing. It's such a blast to get to help them where I can. Anything from beginner surfers improving their pop-up and take-off, intermediate surfers learning to generate speed to getting advanced surfers to use their arms throughout the full turn. Close contact via the private coaching group after the theoretical information from the course is where the real progression is made. You basically get to have a personal surfcoach in your pocket wherever you go. Something I wish I had when I was younger. Send me a DM if you're interested in joining the group and finally progress your surfing to the next level.⚡

Video analysis is super important into becoming a better surfer. Learning from the pro's is one of the very insightful practices in the course. We "copy" the style and technique of the surfers we analyse. Which surfer would you want to surf like?

Which one comes first? 🤔 Do you get inspired, then get motivated, act and progress. Or do you start somewhere else? Progression can be a vicious cycle if you let it be. Being able to do something consistently for weeks, months and even years takes courage, commitment and freedom. Freedom of judgement of yourself, freedom to experience the ups and down, freedom to let yourself be inspired. The surf academy pro will focus on these three key points towards progression. Now, the most important question of today and how you could help someone else out. What inspires you to surf? This can be anything. Let us know in the comments. 👇 I'll begin.

Something that will greatly boost the quality of your surfing is improving your take-off. Getting speed in the beginning of the wave will make surfing the rest of the wave so much easier. Let's go through the steps of a strong take-off: • 1. Look down the line. This creates intention and a better estimation about what the wave will do. Look down the line from the moment you start paddling in. • 2. Extend legs and throw arms forward. By extending the legs we put pressure against the upward motion of the water, in combination with throwing the arms forwards it propels us down the line and give us a lift. • 3. Travel higher up the wave face. Using the lift we just created during step 2 we want to travel up the wave face, this give us time to make choices: do we want to go down the line, straight into a bottom turn or even cut back to the pocket of the wave? • 4. Compress and turn nose towards the shore. In this wave we need to go down the line so we compress to articulate the downward motion of the board down the face of the wave. This creates speed, which we can use for the next maneuvre on the wave. • The steps we take are either to "give us more time for the next choice" or "generating more speed". During this critical part of the wave we need all the time we can get to get that great start of the wave whereafter we can enjoy the rest of the ride. • Enroll in @surfacademypro to learn how to surf. ⚡

Control what you CAN control. Seeking control over what you can't control will feel so frustrating. What should every surfer do? • 🏋️ Excercise. Having a routine for when the waves are flat, bad or too big to surf is one of the best things you could do for your surfing. Progressing in strenght, stamina or explosiveness will help you surf better when you're back in the water. • 🧠 Mindset. Maybe the most important thing you can control. For me, enjoying the journey long term is what's making it all so fun to me. Seeing tough sessions as the learning curve, enjoying bad wipe-outs because they are part of the journey and knowing that some day soon there will be a session where I feel awesome in the water will be all worth the energy. • 🍽️ Eating/Sleeping The easiest one to control and the one that's so important for your energy levels, injury risk, overall feeling and long term health. Sleep 8+ hours a night, eat diverse whole foods and get your vitamins/minerals in. • 🏄 Board choice. The factor that has the most effect on how our surfsession will go. Choosing a board that's either too big or too small will result in a really bad session. Listen to surfcoaches, follow their surftips and have a board ready for bigger and smaller waves. • Ask yourself these two questions: what is one thing that you could control which would make your surf journey better? And what is one thing you can't control but should let go to get lest frustrated? Let me know in the comments and let's discuss, we can learn so much from each other. • SAVE this post and send it to friends who can use these tips as well. What would you want tips for next time? • Enroll in the Surf Academy Pro course to improve your surfing. ⚡

We've all been tricked into it in the beginning. 😂 From the beach it looks so easy, so inviting and so fun. When in reality learning to surf is hard work and it takes a long time! But in the end it's so worth it! 💃 For me, it's the perfect way to deal with life. Setting a goal almost impossible to achieve and do everything in my power to achieve that goal. Because I want to become the best surfers that I can be, I have to put in the work. I need to train smart, eat right, sleep well, be happy, travel and so much more. "A surfer knows the feeling" isn't only applicable to being stoked but also this scenario of the illusion of learning to surf. Do you really want to get better in surfing? Get ready because you're gonna get tested on all these levels and I'll support you the whole way! Sign up via the link in the @surfacademypro bio for the full course.

Catching more waves = learning how to surf faster. In most cases this is true but it's probably the one thing that holds beginner/intermediate surfers back from progressing. I see it so often in the line up, surfers just chilling and waiting for the waves to come to them instead of paddling for the waves. Nothing wrong with chilling in the ocean but if you want to improve we're going to have to learn to catch a ton of more waves. And in the @surfacademypro course I'll learn you all about it.
