Gosh dang, this will be a tough one to write and conceptually articulate, but it’s necessary because I’m closing yet another chapter. Are we at series 679 now??
My life has not been easy (whose has??)?!
I say and portray and feed off of my pain in ways that make the vast majority of whom I thought were “my people” uncomfortable. I made a career out of it.
These people live in every fiber of who I am and I helped raise 3 of them. Our versions of situations are vastly different. That’s OK. They have their truth and who the f*ck am I to take that away?
I think album #2 will focus on this and not the sordid marriage/conflicting realities of my past. I think this is where the disconnect happens: everyone has their version; it hurts that those few people I spoke to about it don’t believe the “story” or I exist anymore.
Where there is truth, there is rebellion because the narrative doesn’t fit the image. I don’t KNOW and never will. My heart just doesn’t beat that way.
When I say “I love you” I mean it into my bones. Yeah, we all do stupid sh*t and grow up and laugh about it in healthy dynamics.
I love my peeps family or otherwise and this shift in my life is so eye-opening. What an effing 2 years! It’s never too late… to admit you were wrong; to admit you’re not perfect; to admit you’re human. Tread lightly.
