One in four Barbadians is living with at least one NCD.” These conditions cost our nation $375–$825 million every year that’s nearly 10% of GDP. Longevity isn’t just about adding years to life it’s about adding health, vitality, and independence to those years. Barrow once urged Barbadians to consider the mirror image they held of themselves not as a gesture of vanity, but as a measure of readiness. The reflection mattered because it revealed ambition, self-respect, and the courage to imagine forward. Today, that mirror is still before us. It reflects the image we choose to shape one grounded in dignity, agency, and intention as we continue designing a future that is unmistakably our own. We recently had the opportunity to present to the European Union on Digital Innovation & the Intelligent Organisation and the conversation was exactly where it needs to be: not just about technology, but about people, systems, and long-term impact. Innovation isn’t about chasing trends. It’s about building organisations that can learn, adapt, and lead. 🏏Cricket, but make it science! We’ve had a fantastic journey with the Barbados Royals and local coaches as part of the Rise & Reign pilot which started back in August! The initiative was developed for coaches, teachers, youth leaders, and sports professionals interested in transforming how youth cricket is approached in Barbados. We treated the pitch as a testing ground and the results were phenomenal. As we culminate the first leg of this project with the Coaches Celebration Ceremony, we are grateful to our partners at UNICEF @unicef and the Academy of Sport – UWI Cave Hill @uwicavehillcampus , for making this possible.
