Hooked up
Round 3 @miatattc at Chuckwalla yesterday. 4 drivers in Huevo, lots of testing, many smiles. Spent the early sessions making adjustments to the car to end up with a perfect balance by the end of the day. 97°!

This past weekend Kat and I spent the weekend upgrading our Tecna Coilovers to Xidas . The question we’ve gotten is why? Well if you saw are post you’d know it’s based mainly on how much I’ve improved and finding the limits of the tecnas , but let me dig a bit deeper to help you decide which is best for you .

The choice to build this car initially with tecnas 2 years ago was based on entry level knowledge, uncertainty of how far I’d take tracking the car, and great reviews regarding SuperMiata . Well, I’m here to tell you I too give a 5 star review. I knew the tecnas were not a full track coilover, and well, I pushed them full time on track and they held up great . And not just any track tested, but Sebring tested. Also, worth mentioning , even with the 9/6 rates of the sport package tecnas our Miata rode great on street, and everyone that rode with us agreed. However, our Miata very quickly became a dedicated track toy for Kat and I . Therefore, street use was not a priority and inherently neither was “daily” comfort . With regular track weekends my confidence and skills developed and found it was time for some upgrades to include more aggressive valving , stiffer springs, and ability for long term rebuild maintenance capabilities (among other things). So after two years it was time to retire the tecnas (which still look brand new) and upgrade to Xidas again based off great reviews and recommendations.

Our next track weekend is a few weeks away and we have some things to button up, but we will report back with our track tested review.
