The last few weeks, I’ve contemplated the purpose of the called hour. Sometimes I spend a lot of time just thinking and thinking so deeply that I do not even write. I simply linger within a profound thought.
Through a dream, I saw an unfortunate person being shot in the face. That same day, on my way to the international airport in Quito, I witnessed an unfortunate soul who had been the victim of a hit-and-run. The police were covering him, which made it clear the victim had passed. Immediately, my mind returned to the dream.
Later, through the days, I thought that nothing in the spectrum of the metaphysical is entirely literal. I remembered a quote from a movie that is actually a verse from Book of Isaiah. It inspired me to write a modern version.
Sometimes our final calling is already there in aspects of life such as career, relationships, and family. We must be willing, voluntarily, to walk into darkness or light, and become warriors of our faith. It has not been easy for me from physical injury to dealing with medical issues.
But I stay strong:
“Here I am. Send me.”

A small moment we can’t change.
I was doing a full on the trampoline, and on the way down there was something too close to me—I ended up punching into it 😬. Something I didn’t take into consideration… if it had been an inch further, maybe that wouldn’t have happened.
But I’ve signed a contract of war with the craft of breaking, which for me includes acrobatics and I’ve accepted that fate.
Over the last 6 years or so, I’ve made it a habit to pray before I go to sleep. I ask the day: what’s up, what do you want me to look at?
Because I don’t see myself as a victim of the situation, but instead ask: what am I not seeing?
And that question can lead to many answers.
For me, it’s understanding that the challenge will always be there 4 to 8 weeks on the road to recovery 🙂.
But beyond that, there are still other aspects to build: strength, dance , some more target aspect on breakin ,etc and everything else we can keep developing.
Because evolution never stops.

One of my favorite childhood memories in my barrio in Rímac, Peru, was playing canicas.
It was a very popular and competitive game in neighborhoods across South America, where precision, strategy, and cleverness all came into play.
We often think creativity in breaking only exists in the moves themselves, but another layer of creativity lives in storytelling. During my toprock, I recreated the moment of taking the shot of a marble, which became the gesture and the trigger.
I timed that gesture for the exact moment when I knew the beat was about to drop or change. That small moment became the trigger that led into the movement phrase a difficult power set. The moves themselves weren’t original, just a highlevel combo, but the feeling and the story behind the moment felt unique to me. A narrative expression 🧙♂️
Sometimes creativity isn’t about inventing new moves. Sometimes it’s about turning a memory into movement and moments.
I miss those days in Peru 🇵🇪
Last night’s training was about one equation: creating opportunity for the new.
The line for this session was:
Flare → Windmill → Transition → Flare
This line is just a template a way to generate ideas around those motions. The goal is not to be rigid with the equation, but to let imagination manifest through it.
Maybe something needs to come out.
Maybe something needs to fuse.
Maybe it needs to combine then.
Or maybe the work is simply going deeper into the fundamentals within those lines.
Explore the possibilities.
