@starjunk95 came by to visit us Illinoisans. Glad to know we have this guy protecting our galaxy, and/or providing the jams. Most excellent.
(P.S. when you dropped that Justice remix I lost my Gyat damn mind brother)
why the art institute got all these Westside Gunn album covers?
Thank you to my wonderful woman for taking me to the only remaining big Chicago museum I had not visited. I love you dearly.
I’ve a lot of memories in the ICEBOX theater but it seems fitting to post the one where I had to come to terms with saying goodbye to it.
The place where I honed my Improv skills.
The place where I made lasting relationships.
The place where I showed up in dress clothes and sweatpants alike, ready to work, and to practice everything I came to value: from poetry and songwriting, to playwriting and directing.
Let’s be honest, Propagation was a vanity project. A very selfish one despite its subject matter. It was a love note to my friends, family, and my anxious, procrastinating brain. Above all, however, it was a love note to the enduring power of theater and its ability to create an emotion that is ever so lacking these days: empathy.
Empathy for your fellow human. Empathy for the ride. Empathy for this world that is oh so temporary.
I find it ironic that the things that formed my heart and brain seemed to be swept aside upon the departure of my classmates and I in that dreadful year of 2020.
But I find it empowering that the ideas I spoke, whether for dumb comedy, or a late teen’s questions about existence, will stick with me until I’m gone forever.
I only wish that those younger than me could’ve had the opportunity to do better. I would’ve loved to see them do better.
Goodbye, Icebox theater.
Long live your memories. And may my Alma Mater feel a deep shame for attempting to erase its legacy.
Great haul today for Record Store Day. Didn’t end up getting the RSD titles I wanted but still supported a local store and got some titles I’ve been wanting for quite some time.
Exceptionally happy to finally have some Dead Kennedys in my collection as well. Happy RSD to all who celebrate!
For 25 years of my life there have been few constants. One that has always remained is “Discovery”.
Happy 25th, “Discovery”.
Thank you @daftpunk for all the memories.
I don’t know how this series can still pump out absolute heaters this long into the game.
This is neck and neck with RE4 as my favorite Resident Evil of all time.
A spectacular thrill ride that takes all past elements over three decades of blood soaked horror and makes them into one big love note to the series. You can tell the people making this put every single ounce of their love, joy, blood, sweat and tears in this game.
Score might change on a replay but i feel safe saying:
9.5/10
Couldn’t get a video of “Live Right” or “Hooligang” cause I was too busy either screaming, crying, dancing, or jumping.
Had to get “The Baddest” though.
JVB SUCKAAAAAAAAAAAA
In all seriousness though, what a vibrant, warm and welcoming show. Joey and Brae are two of the kindest, most energetic stage presences I’ve ever seen to date. There is a deep, passionate love for what they do and it comes out in the form of songs that just make you wanna go absolutely apeshit.
Highly recommend.
From “Punk Tactics” to “Disco Tomorrow” these guys know what they’re about.
Thank you to my lovely girly for picking up tickets for the both of us and letting me run away to the moshpit for a few songs. You’re a dime.
