Suddenly and unexpected.
Walter was my father and this page was very important to him. He often made me rearrange things, change titles and even delete posts he no longer liked. Most of the time I could just archive them instead. It was a great joy for him to see likes come in and to be in touch with so many people from all over the world. He read every single comment and DM.
Often he would ask me, after we had worked on different pictures, if we could do "a post", which for him meant posting three times to fill one row of the grid on his profile page. It was very important that it was 3. I have said many times that it could be just one. But he insisted that it had to be three. Frequently he couldn't make up his mind on the spot, and we'd rearrange different photographs until we found something that matched what he had in mind. It was important to him to share his work.
One of his other favourite passions was making Spotify playlists. To a mood, to a month, to a genre, or just for having a coffee. I published all his playlists on his Spotify profile (walterdahn). Link in Bio. I also converted his favourite songs (2625) into a playlist, which you can check out on his profile.

The funeral service and burial will take place on November 23, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Melaten Cemetery in the chapel of St. Mary Magdalene and Lazarus, Aachener Strasse 204, 50931 Cologne.
