The revised deluxe edition of “Supercade: A Visual History of the Videogame Age 1971-1984” is officially in final edit… I’m also publishing an extra special 25th Anniversary edition so if you haven’t yet preordered please stop by the Supercade Shop! Link in Bio 📚💕👾🕹️⚡️ #supercade #videogamebooks #retrogaming #gamepreservation #gamehistory
First preview of the new DELUXE revised edition of the original Supercade 1971-1984 was released for backers yesterday, final pages from the front matter. It has been such a time warp going through these layouts and I’m getting misty for the year 2000 when I first drafted it. Much of the art is being upgraded and I’ve added over 100 pages of new content… it is going to be super awesome. Oh, and if anyone wants their name in the book, late pledges are still open on Kickstarter. Just click the linky in my bio! 👾

This year’s Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Champion KHAOS took home more than an EVO title — he grabbed his own copy of “Supercade: A Visual History of the Videogame Age 1985–2001”! So honored!!⚡️📚
Competitive gaming has deep roots in the early arcade eras “high score” culture and players like KHAOS are proof that the spirit is still alive. 🕹️💕

FINAL PONG WEEKEND!
Tomorrow Saturday May 24th will be the last public opening for AVOID MISSING BALL before we begin installing the next exhibition.
This first-of-its-kind survey explores the early history of influence that led to the development of the first interactive game, TV Ping Pong, from early experiments at Brookhaven National Laboratory and Sanders Associates to the start-ups of Silicon Valley, and celebrates the pioneers who created a new medium.
Please stop by Space Gallery to celebrate the 50th anniversary of PONG and view a comprehensive archive of first-generation home gaming systems including Odyssey, the original Sears Tele-Games PONG, and myriad rare consoles – some playable on vintage era-correct televisions – as well as the Atari VCS playing Video Olympics, the Commodore Pet running Pong!, and early PONG arcade games.
Also included is the two-player immersive experience ACID PONG created by video artist Josh Randall (@robotkid ) and a selection of photographs from Ira Nowinski’s iconic series “Bay Area Video Arcades” on loan from Stanford.
The exhibition will be open from 12-5pm and admission is free with complimentary arcade gaming. Hope to see you!
