Growing up in North Carolina, I’m reminded of where I started. As a kid, I would save every bit of allowance I could just to buy a new album. I remember standing in record stores, flipping through vinyl, telling myself that one day my name would be on ONE of those covers.
I spent my early years in Greenville, and then 16 years in Charlotte, heavily a part of the local hip-hop scene. To come back to Charlotte and see my own record sitting inside
@lunchboxrecords was a moment that was humbling. The sacrifices, the setbacks, and the small wins endured along the way just to still be here. Even 13–14 releases later, moments like this remind me why I started rapping at 9 years old.
Never forget when all you had was a dream. Those days mean everything. 🙌🏽
