We host free activities at Sunset Dunes every week! And starting this year, we’re excited to announce two new ones: Traditional Chinese Dance and Zumba classes!

Ocean Calling is a portal for speaking to lost loved ones through the wind and the waves. Today the creators @mamaladysmix@sarahgrimmstudio hosted a beautiful remembrance celebration at their installation.
To prepare for the remembrance celebration, they collected invasive plants and used them to dye yards and yards of linen. They invited people to share the names of their loved ones who have passed. Jamae and Sarah then wrote each name on a piece of linen – saying each name outloud to honor them.
This afternoon, we gathered together to attach all of the names along a line at @sunsetdunespark
There was a break in the rain that allowed everyone to gather in love and comfort. We talked openly about our grief and our loved ones. We shared stories, stood in silence at times, and hugged each other. It was a beautiful afternoon.
