He holds an MFA in Photographic and Electronic Media from MICA (’20) and an MFA in Experimental Animation from CalArts (’25). Growing up amid continual migration, his work reflects on the instability of identity and the fragile idea of “home” within contemporary global conditions. Working across photography, animation, sound, and installation, he develops a restrained visual language where personal memory, disorder, and systemic forces quietly intersect. He recently completed a residency at REEF, concluding with a solo exhibition with an immersive installation with his animation. 🎬 𝐸𝓍𝓅𝑒𝓇𝒾𝓂𝑒𝓃𝓉𝒶𝓁 𝒜𝓃𝒾𝓂𝒶𝓉𝒾𝑜𝓃 𝓈𝒽𝑜𝓌𝒸𝒶𝓈𝑒 2026 Experimental Animation Showcase 💫 A selection of films made by Experimental Animation students 📅 Wednesday, May 6th, 6:30pm 📍 Directors Guild of America 7920 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90046 🧁 Join us after the screening for a catered reception in the DGA’s Grand Lobby. 🚙 Free parking for all guests in the DGA’s main and overflow parking structures, accessible off Hayworth Avenue. 🎟 Ticket reservations required — seating is limited! eventbrite.com/e/2026-calarts-experimental-animation-showcase-tickets-1985454373478

Exhibition archive. Featuring the installation from my film <Bridge, Until……>. Bringing this installation to life has been a long journey. Deeply grateful for the people I’ve met who helped make this possible.

I am pleased to invite you to our upcoming two-person show on Friday, December 12. This event marks the inaugural exhibition at Lush Field, and I’m so happy to be part of it. Lush Field is an art community curated by @hudi_la_ , It is a domestic art and technology space for soft research, contemporary art projects, small gatherings, and gentle experiments. Reposted from @lush.field : Lush Field First Exhibition | Two-person show: Xiaofeng Guo & Tia Xia Xiaofeng Guo @sunrises00 sensory experiences that feel both intimate and distant through digital abstraction, virtual textures, and familiar visual languages, quietly revealing how digital environments rewrite our sense of “the real.” Tia Xia @tia.xia.art presents her paintings and reconstructs her living space inside the gallery, inviting viewers into an immersive domestic environment shaped by bodies, materials, and everyday rhythms. Their practices approach the intersections of digital and lived experience, virtual and material worlds, modernity and intimacy, the personal and the social, each from a different angle. Placed together, the works raise a simple yet persistent question: How do we decide what is real? How will life be sensed and felt? With this exhibition, Lush Field opens its space, gently reimagining our transforming era at the intersection of art, technology, and everyday life. #laartshow #laartist #degitalart #experimentalanimation #contemporaryartwork

My friends, I warmly invite you to my solo exhibition “wish you were here”, at the CalArts REEF Residency open studio in downtown LA. I will be presenting my new installation work and film<bridge, until……>. “Tomorrow remains uncertain. Memory like snow, quietly drifting through the air. There is a constant attempt to record, to capture what vanishes in a moment. Yet the house never returns to its wholeness, just as the past cannot be reached or changed. What is unrecorded does not mean it is gone.
A bond, like an unseen thread, glows softly in the dark. Its light reveals a bridge almost blurred, moving through the gathered fragments, toward a home hidden beneath layers.” The show will begin on November 22 2025 through Dec 6. Opening celebration on Nov 22 from 5pm-8pm. 1933 S Broadway Los Angeles, CA 90007 United States 🎫free admission @calarts @calarts.experimental.animation Beautiful poster by @echocatcher

introducing exhibiting artist @sunrises00 Xiaofeng Guo (B.1995, Inner Mongolia, China) currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California. Earning an MFA (’20) Degree in Photographic and Electronic Media at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Currently, He is a candidate of Experimental Animation MFA at California Institute of the Arts(CalArts) How do we coexist with the disorder of the world? This has been a long-standing concern for Xiaofeng. His works are closely related to his personal upbringing and experiences. "Home" appears as a core element in his major creations. Centered around the theme of "home," He utilizes a range of mediums such as video, sound, animation, installations, and sculptures to explore themes deeply intertwined with the audience, such as the hidden political motivations behind everyday life, the establishment and reshaping of landscapes, borders, and migrations. Behind these themes, feelings of sorrow emotion and critical realities often coexist. For the artist, focusing on the minutiae of the present is a powerful way to understand the world in which we live. By showcasing the unpredictable and chaotic aspects of the world, Xiaofeng simultaneously expresses his reflections on contemporary life. 𓂅ᯅ💭🫧 ⓐⓣ ⓣⓗⓔ ⓣⓡⓐⓒⓔ   ,⃝ ⓡⓘⓟ   ,⃝ ⓡⓤⓝⓖ ⓣⓞ ⓣⓗⓔ ⓕⓞⓤⓡⓣⓗ   ,⃝ ⓣⓗⓘⓡⓓ ⓡⓘⓟⓟⓛⓔⓓ ⓣⓐⓟⓔ ⓞⓕ ⓜⓨ ⓔⓨⓔഒꔛᯅ𓂅ꔛ⋆ ꕤ⌕ ๑ ⋆๑ 🫧💭 at pꅔ🅛ꅔ🅓ꅔr s🅟ꅔc🅔, Amsterdam next 4th of July, from 6-9PM𓂅⊹𓂅
