The mind begins to unfold its pictures. Thoughts arise and dissolve, reflections in which I meet myself again, the familiar story of “Nicolas,” the sense of being him.
Yet sometimes, a gentle opening appears. When I no longer lean toward the thoughts, when I release whatever I have been holding, I step through a quiet doorway. Beyond it, there is a freedom, a warmth that soothes the heart.
