✨ Today marks my first year as the MLA for Vancouver-Langara. Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of hearing your stories, championing your concerns, and collaborating with community leaders to build a stronger, more inclusive Vancouver-Langara. 🙏 I’m deeply grateful to my incredible Constituency Office team for their tireless work, connecting constituents with government services, coordinating my calendar for community events, preparing congratulatory certificates, and helping resolve issues with provincial ministries and agencies. 🎨 A special thank you to local artist @main.zoe for creating the stunning mural in the office. I invite you to stop by, snap a photo, and enjoy this vibrant piece of community art. Thank you for your trust, your feedback, and your unwavering commitment to our shared future. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and even more excited for what’s ahead. #SunitaDhirBC #VancouverLangara #VancouverBC #BC #BCPoli

Midwives are a trusted part of care for many people and families in BC. We’re working to expand what midwives can do, so people can get more of the care they need from the provider they already know. These changes will help midwives: • order and perform ultrasounds when needed • prescribe medications for common conditions during and after pregnancy • provide care for early pregnancy loss and abortion That means fewer extra appointments, less travel, and more consistent, connected care — especially in rural and remote communities. We’re working with partners to bring these changes into effect as soon as possible.

I rose in the @bclegislature to recognize May 6 as Naturopaths Day in British Columbia, as officially proclaimed by the province, and to acknowledge the important role naturopathic doctors play in supporting the health and well-being of people across our province. Naturopathic doctors are highly trained, regulated health professionals who complete extensive post-secondary education and clinical training before entering practice. Many British Columbians rely on them for ongoing patient-centred care, including prevention, chronic disease management and support for complex health needs. Their work reflects key priorities of our health care system, helping people stay well, supporting continuity of care and complementing the broader network of providers delivering care across the province. #SunitaDhirBC #VancouverLangara #VancouverBC #VictoriaBC #BC BCPoli NaturopathicDoctors NaturopathsDay

Last Tuesday on May 5, we honoured and brought awareness to the thousands of Indigenous women, girls, and Two‑Spirit people who have faced disproportionate violence in Canada. Red Dress Day is a time of mourning and reflection, a moment to acknowledge the profound grief carried by families and communities, and to reaffirm our collective responsibility to end violence against Indigenous people. Our government remains committed to advocating for safety, justice, and an end to gender‑based violence and harm against Indigenous people. #SunitaDhirBC #VancouverLangara #VancouverBC #VictoriaBC #BC BCPoli RedDressDay MMIWG2S NoMoreStolenSisters Reconciliation

Last Tuesday’s BC Beef Day brought cattle ranchers from across the province to the @bclegislature , highlighting their vital role as food producers and dedicated stewards of the land. It was a powerful reminder of how much our communities rely on the hard work and care of BC ranchers and the landscapes they protect. #SunitaDhirBC #VancouverLangara #VancouverBC #VictoriaBC #BC BCPoli BCAg BuyBC BCBeef SupportLocal

For many families, affordable, high-quality child care is a game changer. It helps parents get to work, start new jobs, pursue training or education, and create stable routines that work for their families. Since 2018, BC has increased the number of early childhood educators, created thousands of new licensed spaces and lowered fees for families across the province. Today, 98% of licensed child care spaces in BC have reduced fees - saving families thousands of dollars every year. This progress matters, and we're committed to keep building on it. MLA @steve.morissette.mla , MLA @georgechowbc , and I were thrilled to attend Spotlight on @universityofbc Research last Monday, where President @ubcprez Benoit‑Antoine Bacon and leading researchers showcased how UBC is driving innovation in healthy lives, planetary solutions, and thriving societies. It was an inspiring evening of connection and discovery with UBC leadership, government partners, alumni, donors, students, and friends of the university. #SunitaDhirBC #VancouverLangara #VancouverBC #VictoriaBC #BC BCPoli UBC SpotlightOnUBCResearch UBCCommunity UBCInnovation ResearchExcellence UBCAlumni UBCLeadership
