My farming journey started 3 years ago on the land that was once riverhill farm. A place with a deep and abundant history that along with so many other farmers I feel grateful to have been apart of.
It was a self taught crash course full of faith trial error success tears endurance heartache and the satisfying beauty of harvest and reaping what you sow. I definitely miss those wide open fields that I gave to and received so much from. The concept of land ownership is so fucking strange and colonial yet feels necessary in our culture. What an incredible privilege , esp on lands that were all stolen at some point anyway.
It’s something I’m constantly thinking of, to plant a tree and watch it grow, perennials to enjoy for years, it feels like a dream 😇but in the meantime, and even if it never happens, I’m dedicated to stewarding whatever earth I can get my hands in. 🪱
