“Petra Dominová is a visual artist from the Czech Republic, currently based in Belfast. She completed her MFA in Fine Art in 2019 and is a member of Flax Art Studios.
Her multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sound, digital art, and installation. Drawing on myth and a personal, intuitive iconography, her work explores themes of consciousness, mysticism, and ecology. Recently, she has developed an interest in sacred geometry, incorporating its symbolic structures and patterns as a way of investigating interconnectedness and underlying universal forms.”

Made this animation last year from photographs I took of plants, statues and flowers.
It’s like a helix of all these different elements blending together.
The individual faces multiplied and through hundreds of frames I put together this stop motion sequence.
I don’t know but doing any stop motion makes me feel like I’m in the 60’s on the cusp of this intriguing technology, it’s very intuitive and also very rough and ready and low fi. And those things sometimes can carry emotion the most.
It’s a very sweet process
