Over $2,500 raised! I tried to write something poignant and meaningful about this event but there is nothing I could say that could truly express my feelings of hope and gratitude. All I can say is that helplessness is a lie they feed us, that they sedate us with. Collectively, we are capable of more than we think. Liberation and the path to it are within reach if we just remember to act.
From Indigenous Roots hosting us, to community members offering their services, to my friends carrying me through the day, this event was village at its core. Thank you to everyone who took the time to donate, volunteer, and buy clothes this weekend. It might seem like a small act but it will make a difference in the lives of several families.
