February wrap up! Saw Florence and the Machine, went on a valentine's treasure hunt, learned about life on other planets, shot some arrows, friends were born! Park walks and club nights and looking at art and poetry, and my life feels wonderfully full
Last Tuesday it was the second ever (official) meeting of the "Autistic queers with dykey haircuts" club.
By which I mean I got the chance to perform a duo poem with my very good friend, and amazing poet, @sumnerbrook
Here is a our poem Dysphoria, a collaborative poem and performance, devised originally by Sumner and performed only once previously.
Thank you very much to @processproductions for creating such a wonderful space and thank you to @tyronelewis22 for recording this poem, and documenting the poetry scene more widely.
We’re back again next Thursday 13 November @enidstreettavernse16 with an absolute corker of a lineup 🤩 Readings from Jonnie Fielding @bowlofchalk@itsjennolan@that1thea_ and @sumnerbrook - start time 7.30pm 🗣️ Two paid open mic spots, 5 2-4-1 tix available till midnight, tix £8 on the door, will be really quite lovely I’d wager - see you there 👀
The World's Last True Feminist
Recorded live @processproductions by the inimitable @tyronelewis22
I like my satire subtle as horseradish.

Asking London poets… what is a poem (pt. 2)? 🤔 There were a lot of interruptions from the natural world in this one - watch to the end for the squirrel’s definition and a bee’s contribution 🐿️ 🐝 Thanks to lovely poets @kaylatmf@harperwalton_ and @sumnerbrook for their excellent answers on obscenity and much else - if you are a poet and want to tell me your definition, DM me ✉️ #poetry #londonwriters
August wrap up! Anniversary trip, tattooed twice, dog turned into a lamp, preparing for big hike, helping with house move, reading a lot, hitting milestones
June wrap up! Birthday! Medieval stylings at my birthday party and at a sea shanty gig! Poems! Poems at pride! Poems for Palestine! D&D! Too hot to function! Beasts!
🚨 Episode #3 of the pod is up! 🚨 This one features sets from the magnificent, wonderful and splendid @sumnerbrook@elliedesatge and @mahenikarthur - yes, it’s rather a special one. Listen on Substack, Spotify or Apple Music and give us a five-star rating if you so desire🌟
We will have sets from three of our favourite writers on this week’s pod. Up first is the splendid and ridiculously multitalented @sumnerbrook who absolutely smashed it out the park when they came along to Storytime in January. Here’s a little snippet 🗣️ 🥰 #storytelling #poetry
Aquarium trip for Kai's birthday! He's 26 dude! We looked at fish! 🐟🐠🐡🦞🦑🐙🪼🪸🦈
Shoutout to the very annoyed little girl in the third room who said 'ugh, more fish'. She had a big storm coming.
📢 Lineup change! 📢
Unfortunately, Tristan Robinson is no longer able to perform at tomorrow's event.
FORTUNATELY the absolutely brilliant Sumner Brook has stepped in to round out the lineup! 🎉 🙌✨️🙌🎉
Sumner Brook (they/them) is a poet, writer, comic and activist from South East London. Like a reverse youth pastor, they're here to plant subversive thoughts while you chuckle at their politically flavoured nonsense.
Sumner is a BBC Young Writer of the Year finalist and Roundhouse Poetry Slam semi-finalist. They're a regular at London open mics and have been featured by events including the Totally Thames Festival, Process Productions, Trans History Week, Extra Second London, Catford Pride, Fed Up and Rhymes & Stitches. They think you look very nice today.
We can't wait for their set 🙏
Thank you to everyone who has bought a ticket and made tomorrow's event another sell-out ❤️
