More on our proposals for how governments can lead a response to the food crisis - this one triggered by the Iran War and climate changes, but coming with ever increasing frequency. We’re arguing that this is precisely the moment for governments to bring the same leadership to the food transition as the energy transition - protect the most vulnerable, target support and invest in a more secure and resilient future for food and farming, ‘bouncing forward’ to a future free from fossil fuel and climate triggered volatility. #food #farming #landuse #climate #resilience

What if we bring the same ambition and courage to the food transition as we are to the energy transition? #food systems #farming #agroecology #climate

☀️ Sophie is right (@farmer_in_training ), the Ark Summit is full of great food, great topics, great music and great people so make sure you come and join us on the 19 June 2026 in the Cotswolds. 🎤 This year, Sophie will be speaking on the panel “Beyond the Noise - The Rest Is Politics and Policy” alongside Sue Pritchard (@suepr ), and interviewed by Patrick Holden (@patrickholdensft ) 🚜 This session will cut through the headlines to explore what recent policy changes really mean for farmers. ➡️ How can farm businesses stay resilient and profitable in the face of constant political change? Only time will tell when we talk about this important topic together in the summer. 🎟️ Tickets are available now, they’re selling fast so secure your place today - ticket link in our bio 🔗 #regenerativeagriculture #arksummit #dairyfarmers #farmingevent #organicfarming

A rather more straightforward delivery this morning at daybreak. With the sun coming up over the hill through the trees, this black ewe pops out a white and a black lamb. Nothing needed from me here. #lambing #springishere

All the #lambing skills in use for this lovely ewe! No 1 a breech, then No 2 and 3 deciding to exit at the same time - presenting one head and one set of forelegs from a different lamb! 🙄 And No 2 is mahoosive!! No 2 still a bit floppy, so is in, and being bottle fed, along with Magic Mike, the lamb born from a ewe with Twin Lamb syndrome. It’s been quite the season this year…

Drinking a toast on the train home tonight, to the Defra team and everyone inside and outside government, who put in a phenomenal shift over years, to get this out. Three ministers and a perm sec on the panel - a mark, I think, of how seriously they’re taking this. Tonight we celebrate. Tomorrow we start the work of delivery #landuse #defra 👏🏼🥂

We all like to think we choose what we buy, but do we? Who really controls what we eat and what can we do to regain power? Join me and my stellar line up of panellists @josiah.meldrum of @hodmedods , @suepr CEO of @ffc_commission , @lulugrimes of @immediatemediaco and @thelifelarder for what promises to be a thought provoking conversation at @fortnums food and drink studio. If you need more by way of enticing, the ticket price includes a welcome drink and three canapés! Please share with your friends and hopefully, see you there. Thank you @hattycary and @anthony.l.wilson for this joy. #londonfoodevents #ingoodtaste #fortnum

It wasn’t the best weather to be planting a copse, but the team cracked on. On September 4th 2024 Lt Rhodri Leyshon of 846 Squadron, Royal Navy, was killed in a military accident. This weekend, we gathered to plant a copse in his memory, right where he used to land his helicopter when he dropped in to see us. In a beautiful end to an emotional weekend, the rainbow appeared. Thank you @stumpupfortrees_ for all your help. @timleyshoncelebrant @sophmartinl @maddy_shan @theoshan @izzy.shan
