During the Kick-off Ceremony for the 75th Anniversary Edition of Miss World, the official hosting agreement was signed at the Lachateau Hotel, in Ho Chi Minh, by Julia Morley CBE and Mr. Hoàng Nhật Nam, with Miss World 2025 Opal Suchata serving as witness.
Following the signing, and after receiving flowers and warm applause, Julia Morley CBE addressed the audience:
“It is deeply meaningful for me to return to Vietnam and to see this happening. Vietnam is a country I have loved long before many of you were born. To be here today, seeing this dream become a reality, is truly special.
It is my great pleasure to bring over 130 countries to Vietnam, showcasing this beautiful nation to the world and supporting its tourism and economic growth. Together, we can make a real and lasting difference.
At its heart, Miss World stands for two things: promoting tourism and caring for children through Beauty With a Purpose. I have no doubt that everyone who comes to Vietnam will be warmly welcomed and inspired by the beauty of this country and its people.
Thank you for your support, your enthusiasm, your kindness, and your love for children. Thank you for trusting us, we will not let you down.”
Miss World 2025 Opal Suchata also shared her experience in the country, noting how warmly she is received on each visit. “It feels like the lovely people here know me so well,” she said.
The 73rd Miss World Festival, marking the organization’s 75th anniversary, will take place in Vietnam from August 9 to September 5.

The most important reason why I have decided to represent Thailand at the Miss World stage is the opportunity to travel the world and help those in need, those who need hope.
I always say that besides learning from these people, the feeling of being able to dress up, put on a nice pair of shoes, wear a crown and sash, and share my life experiences with someone might show them that there are many things waiting for them in this whole wide world, many opportunities they deserve, many dreams that can come true, and a life they should get to live.
And there’s one quote I once read in a book that has stuck with me to this day. In short, it says “To know one life has breathed easier because you have lived; This is to have succeeded”…and for me, that is the value of life.
My time as Miss World Thailand has come to an end, but what will remain is the value of what I have done, and that will never disappear because where our value resides is in the hearts of ours, and others.
I hope me and my team have brought joy to everyone throughout my journey as a beauty queen.
Thank you all again for making this woman’s life meaningful.

Reigning Miss World Opal Suchata Chuangsri took part in the preliminary interviews of Miss World Thailand 2026, as the search continues for the woman who will represent Thailand at the 75th Anniversary Edition of Miss World in Vietnam.
Opal, who made history as the first Thai representative to win the Miss World crown, met with contestants during the interview phase of the competition, offering support and insight and carefully listening to what they had to say and share with the judges.
The winner of Miss World Thailand 2026 will be crowned on May 10th and will go on to compete at the 73rd Miss World Festival, celebrating 75 years of Miss World history, set to take place in Vietnam from August 9 to September 5, 2026.
