At Subtile, design is at once an aesthetic, an ethic, and an experience. An aesthetic, revealing beauty in the details. An ethic, grounded in sustainable and human-centered thinking. An experience, engaging all the senses and opening a dialogue between cultures and eras. Design becomes a living curation: • a bridge between art, craft, and the everyday, • an act of sensitivity inviting us to slow down, contemplate, and feel, • an immersive experience where beauty has a purpose: to awaken consciousness. ✨ And what better way to welcome you than with a morning ritual? On November 14 at 9 a.m., we invited you to start the day with us over a thoughtfully curated breakfast — a warm moment shared with experts, design lovers, and Subtile’s long-time friends. Thank you to @kulturlx and the @design_luxembourg for offering us this opportunity to speak about the gallery I founded five years ago, driven by a passion for bringing together craftsmanship, design, and the decorative arts — disciplines that, to me, nurture a sense of well-being, belonging, and personal expression. A heartfelt thank you also to Émilie from @piop_concept Piop for her support in bringing this scenography to life, and for the many projects we have carried together over the past five years. It is truly a pleasure to work with you✨. And to run your own business works only with family support: thanks to @michelesouply2021 for her invaluable support in each craziness and to the new official DJ of the gallery DJ CMO, alias Philippe! #subtilestyle #designluxembourg #artisanatcontemporain #galeriedart #designfestival #créationdurable #designinspiration #contemporarydesign #sustainablecreation #artanddesign #designcommunity 📸 : @shiva.akhlaqi

Our installation is ready, and our space now welcomes the enigmatic photographs of Serge Piccard — especially the series “Aux Bords du Monde”. In this in-between world of land and sea, he explores with remarkable subtlety the nuances of grey, the stability of space always enclosed within a firm frame, carefully organized around the horizon, in perfect respect of the classical rules of composition. The almost painterly texture of these photographs is striking, and the choice of dark wooden frames further enhances this atmosphere, immersing us in a very different vision of Brittany, the artist’s native land — far removed from the bright and familiar imagery usually associated with the region. His images place us at the edge of Romanticism, suspended in an infinitely slow and weighty time, animated only by the pale light of winter. A boxed edition featuring seven small-format prints from the series has also been released. Produced in a limited edition of 100 copies, it will be available at the gallery as well. Opening this Thursday 7 May 6pm in presence of the artist. #polaroid #photographyexhibition #blackandwhitephotography #exhibitionluxembourg #subtilestyle

From Antiquity to today, mosaic has remained a powerful medium of expression—and is now making a strong comeback on the architectural scene. After an initial career in cinema, Françoise Lombaers chose to fully dedicate herself to working with mosaic and mineral stone. She explores material, light, and movement through her work. This double-sided mosaic screen is inspired by the shifting surface of a lake near her studio. Its wavy form captures reflections and evokes the gentle rhythm of water. She has also contributed to the design of numerous Hermès boutiques and created a monumental mosaic panel over 3 meters high for their main offices in Mexico City. A later encounter in Brussels, through the Résonance project, led to her collaboration with Guillaume Slizewicz and the creation of Tesselles. Between control and unpredictability, heritage and modernity, her work invites a dialogue between material, space, and perception. Françoise and Guillaume will be waiting for you on May 4th at 12pm to share more about the Tesselles project. Exhibition till 2/5 and conference on 4/5 before the deinstallation. Mosaic Screen, unique item, for information please DM or [email protected] #ContemporaryMosaic #ArtAndDesign #Tesselle #paravent #craftsmanship @lecarredemosaique

Sophie Thomassin is one of the featured artists in Game of Life, an exhibition exploring transformation and reinvention through contemporary ceramics. Blending Abstract Expressionism, Art Brut, and African influences, her work creates a powerful dialogue between cultures, bodies, and souls—raw, instinctive, and deeply alive. On view until May 2. #contemporaryceramics #ceramicart #artbrut #ceramiclovers #artcollectors

We’re delighted to welcome @beatrice_pettovich , invited to present her ceramic work at our new exhibition starting this Thursday, March 26 6pm. From the very first encounter, we were captivated by the finesse of her porcelain practice. Her exploration of pottery reveals not only technical mastery but also a striking sense of creativity—especially in her delicate, tubular bottles and vases. These elongated forms seem to stretch upward, reaching toward the sky, each one uniquely crafted through distinct glazing techniques and surface impressions. We were particularly fascinated by her series of small houses. These intimate pieces, conceived as shelters, invite us to reflect on the idea of home—whether as a place of refuge or something more complex. Within these forms, stories unfold: families pass through, time leaves its marks, and both the structures and their inhabitants evolve. Each house becomes a quiet question about what it truly means to inhabit a space. A beautiful and thoughtful body of work, not to be missed. Discover it from March 26 — limited pieces available. #exhibition Game of Life from 26/3 till 2/5/2026 #contemporaryceramic #wallsculpture #artobject #artanddesign

New exhibition Game of Life This week, we are delighted to present a captivating project by Guillaume Slizewicz and Françoise Lombaers. At the intersection of art, technology, and ancestral craftsmanship, this exhibition reimagines mosaic as something generative, organic, and alive, Tesselles. Through the fusion of algorithms and mineral materiality, each piece reveals a unique dialogue between the digital and the handmade. Each artist will also present their work in parallel, exploring themes of earth, stone, and technology—creating a rich and multi-layered conversation across materials and processes. We are also pleased to welcome two invited artists, Béatrice Pettovich and Sophie Thomassin, who will each unveil their ceramic worlds, navigating between raw sculptural forms and a poetic reflection on our notions of shelter and refuge. 📅 Opening (Vernissage): March 26th at 6 PM 💬 Design Talk: • March 26th at 12 PM • or May 4th at 12 PM (by reservation) An immersive experience where innovation meets tradition, opening new perspectives in art and architecture. Last week at Collectible Brussels, we had the pleasure of presenting CUMULUS, a series of mirrors created in 2024 by Valentin Bony. Shown for the very first time, these limited-edition pieces quickly found their audience. Crafted from mirrored PMMA and laser-engraved on the reverse, CUMULUS invites us to keep our heads in the clouds — offering a quiet, minimal presence that resonates with the exhibition’s deeper theme: a return to spirituality. To look at oneself, yes — but perhaps a little less. To question, to pause, and to reconnect with what surrounds us. A special thank you to Valentin for his presence throughout the fair, his energy, and the inspiring conversations he shared with everyone who encountered his work. It has been a true pleasure collaborating over these past days. #CollectibleBrussels #ContemporaryDesign #mirror #DesignExhibition #LimitedEdition @bony_valentin Cumulus Collection, 2024 Mirrored PMMA 490 × 490 mm Limited edition. Available in 10 different patterns, with custom sizes also possible.

Collectible Brussels is in full swing. At the heart of our presentation: a reimagined fireplace, where marble and ceramic meet to preserve a dialogue between mineral strength and organic warmth. This revisited piece is the result of a collaborative project with Subtile X Terretceterra and stands as the central element of our concept. During the opening, the installation was brought to life by the powerful performance of dancer Eurydice, whose movement revealed another dimension of the work. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has already come to visit and share this moment with us. Last day Sunday 15/3— we look forward to welcoming you to discover our universe. #CollectibleBrussels #CollectibleFair #ContemporaryDesign #DesignBrussels #ArtDesign CollectibleDesign with designers/artists: @terretceterra @mrionsrions @bony_valentin @erikbarray @ateliermachot @alexandrealdavert @collectiblefair Photos: @specialthanksphoto Danseuse: @eurydice_gtr
