Growth is part of everything living - from replicating cells to complex societal structures, everything in nature is dynamic.
With this second edition of SUBSTRATE, we felt that same kind of organic movement within the techno scene. When dancers, artists, and everyone involved are given the space to grow naturally, without pressure, something special can take shape. What we experienced last weekend went beyond what we had hoped for, and we’re humbled by the response.
The resonance was overwhelming. Every artist delivered a stellar performance. The dancefloor moved as one organism beneath the dim lights, shaped by @lightops.berlin and @koolinarium .
This second gathering proved that our vision isn’t just a utopia. When the core elements stand strong, everything converges: music, lights, and people. That’s when magic happens.
Thank you to every single dancer, to everyone who came to populate our dream of togetherness through sound, vision and presence. Thank you to the artists @davide_dadada , @mattissteuer , @makeen__ and @oneyra__ for carrying the spirit and intention of this project until the last moment.
SUBSTRATE is meant to stay. Our exploration of depth, community, intention and elegance is fueled by the collective enthusiasm and the desire to dance, create, and connect.
As organizers, we’re now coming together to shape the upcoming third edition.

Join us on our voyage into the depths of sonic exploration for our second edition of SUBSTRATE.
We aim at nourishing the Berlin underground, curating coherent lineups of artists we trust deeply, weaving an immersive tale throughout the whole night.
Drive and hypnosis meet on our dancefloor with meticulous care for sound design, supported by a state-of-the-art, custom built soundsystem.
The synergy of light and music is very dear to us, magic happens when sound and vision meets. We regard the light operator as an essential part of our event.
Staying true to our core principles, sets up to three hours will set the tone for our event, allowing artists to fully explore contrast between light and darkness. We firmly believe that intensity is not set by speed, but by depth, therefore the tempo will range below 140 bpm.
Through resonance and passion, we are building the Berlin techno underground of tomorrow. Our deep love for the scene is reflected in this very gathering.
