Sulphar was concieved when we were invited in to @substationstudios to write and record a song in a few hours. This resulted in a raw and unfiltered creative experience.
The song captures the feeling of dread and the sensation of living on the edge of sanity, unfolding within a dream like reality. Paranoia, anxiety, and desperation.
Big thanks to big daddy @boneteeth_ for your mixing wizardry and the opportunity to record in your space 🖤

It has been a wonderful process of building this space up over the last few months! I couldn’t have done it without all the amazing support from everyone! All the incredible bands who came in and trusted me and this space, all the amazing friends and family who supported me through this process, and all the incredible choms who donated gear to the space! Thank you all so much!
Substation studios is ever growing, and ever changing. But it’s all because of you! I can’t wait to show you what’s coming in next for the space!

Mic Check!! At @substationstudios we have a wonderful collection of beautiful and colourful microphones, some rare pieces, some industry classics, and some modern monsters! Our goal is to capture sound at the highest quality, and with our ever growing array of microphones, we’re getting better every time!
Our collection includes gems such as the warm audio wa67, the Beyerdynamic M88, the AKG 451 b (stereo pairs), Shute beta 57s, Beta 52s, sm57s and sm58s, Rode NT5s, Rode NT1s. And the list goes on ! With every new mic we are working at getting better and better at capturing a great sound in the moment, as it happens ! Capturing the sound of a record the moment the signal hits the desk!

At @substationstudios we loooove our guitar tones! Working with some our personal favourite amps, and microphones, we pride ourselves on getting incredible guitar tones, in real time, that sound like a record!
With our selection of quality valves amps we are always pushing for warmth and clarity in our guitar tones!
As the world moves more into the digital landscape of emulation, at Substation we believe in getting the magic in the room, in the moment. We are here to capture something special and unique, to create art, in all its beauty and eccentricities.
Some of our amps include, an incredible Ashdown Bass Amp, the ELK Twin Reverb Custom Replica, the Vox AC15 C2 with Celestion Greenbacks, the legendary Ibanez TBA15 (modded with custom Tubes, and Hotrodded).
