4 important notes about this months party:
1️⃣📕We’re hosting the night at a more widely accessible venue ♿️in Chinatown (many of you know it from
@carnal.nyc and other k!nk parties 🤭) with an elevator 🛗
2️⃣📘Hi, Amun-Ra (
@amunra.cooks ) here with a note specifically for our Black, Brown, and Indigenous kinksters: I’m a new member of the organizing committee, focused on outreach and with a special focus on changing the culture of Submit to be more inclusive and centering our BIPOC members. We will be writing a future post about accountability as an organizing team to address the issue of running a party that has been historically very -white-. We want SUBMIT to not only be welcoming to Black and Brown kinksters, but to ACTIVELY CENTER the Black and Brown experience. Our first step in that direction is 🚨releasing tickets two days early to QTBIPOC folks on our vetted list 🚨We’ve also added an option in our vetting form for self-identifying as QTBIPOC, and ask that vetted QTBIPOC members fill out the new form in our bio to ensure you are added to this priority list.
We know as an org that this step will not immediately solve the systemic lack of inclusivity that has pervaded this party, but it is our first move in that direction. Look out for a post in the next few weeks detailing our multi-part plan to make this a better, safer, more fun place for Black and Brown kinksters. Thank you for your grace as we navigate this process, and we are open to hearing what you think could improve the environment of the party—DM us at
@submit.nyc or reach out directly to me at
@amunra.cooks to share how you feel. -End of note 🗒️😘 Love, Amun-Ra ✨
