2026 is around the corner. And I remember when I first got into Dubstep properly back in 2018 when I was 16... Yeah, I'm only 23 at the moment. But it was a time where there weren't many people my age in the scene.
Most people from my generation were into DnB, Jungle and Garage, and thought that dubstep was purely Skrillex type tunes. So for me it felt like a bit of a solitary scene.
Even tho I made loads of friends who were older than me, I always wished that people from my circle and age would understand what the genre was about.
I was lucky to meet
@friedz__ so early on. Even tho he was younger than me, he was proper into grime and it was something that we managed to connect over, and I finally found someone to share my thoughts about music with.
7 years have passed and now I'm so glad to see so many people from my generation showing love to this genre and being able to make it evolve not only by DJing, but also by creating Labels, Archives, Photographers, producers and Lovers of the scene.
I wanted to take a moment to show my appreciation to brands and people such as, Fortress, From the gutter, Off Axis, Synthesis AV, Dubstepping, Nio-B, Midrib, Toura, Freja, Nintendhoe and once again Friedz, for being able to share these amazing times for dubstep, grime and adjacent sounds (or as I like to call it "neighboring sounds" or "satellite sounds".
I'm so happy to have such a strong community for a genre which I've spent so much time and love into, and without you guys. Sublock wouldn't be the same.
So thank you ❤️
P.s. I'm so sure I forgot some names here, and I'm sorry if I did, but know that you're part of this post and I appreciate you as much as anyother person/brand in this post ❤️
And thank you Singularity UK for always supporting me and Bushdwella for the amazing Logo 🕺
One love X
