In the 1990s, Nicolas Cage was cast as Superman in Superman Lives, a bold, bizarre reboot directed by Tim Burton and written in part by Kevin Smith. The film was meant to reimagine Superman as a more alien, existential figure, complete with a glowing suit and a plot involving death and resurrection, with villains like Brainiac and a giant mechanical spider.
Despite spending over $30 million in development, the project collapsed due to creative clashes and studio panic after Batman & Robin flopped. Though it was never made, test footage exists, and Cage eventually voiced Superman in Teen Titans Go! To the Movies and appeared via CGI in The Flash (2023), finally fulfilling the strangest casting in superhero history. # —> #Subfoldr
Repost: @ellingson.tv From October 2024, here’s a clip from “The Addams Family”, manipulated live by my synthesizers. The mono-synth sounds are from a @moogsynthesizers Mavis and the video is controlled with audio using VDMX from @vidvox . # —> #Subfoldr
