Turns out you actually don’t need to know how to draw to bring a visual idea to life 🙏 Most of my “planning” looks like sleep deprived scribbles, arrows, stick figures and lighting diagrams that would genuinely concern a real designer. But honestly? That’s kind of the point. People get so caught up in trying to make their ideas look professional before they’ve even MADE the thing. Meanwhile some of the coolest creative work comes from chaos, instinct, experimentation and just having a crack. Half the battle with photography + creative direction is understanding: • lighting • shape • energy • texture • how you want someone to FEEL in the image Not how pretty your sketchbook looks. A lot of creatives are killing their own ideas before they even start because they’re scared of looking cringe, amateur or “not talented enough” online. That’s the real enemy tbh.
