Some sewists learn best by seeing it done âď¸â
â
Thatâs why many of our Style Arc sewing patterns are supported with extra visual resources designed to work alongside your construction notes.â
â
First, we have step-by-step photo tutorials available via the Style Arc website. These tutorials expand on your construction notes with detailed visuals, annotations and added prompts to help guide you through each stage of the sew.â
â
Then, for those who love to watch the process unfold, we also offer Sew-Alongs on YouTube. From tricky techniques to full garment construction, theyâre there to help you sew with more confidence.â
â
Whether you prefer to read it, see it, or sew along step-by-step⌠weâre here to support the way you learn.â
â
Have you used one of our photo tutorials or Sew-Alongs before? Weâd love to know which one helped you most đ¤
One of our three winning makes from the Rework What Exists Challenge đâ
â
âA statement coat creates a structured silhouette like no other. It can define your style, provide an authority of style and create a fashion identity.ââ
â
When Lou @sewmuchtodesign shared this incredible reworked Parker Coat, the Style Arc team instantly stopped scrolling.â
â
This coat previously lived as a museum display curtain and has now been transformed into a wearable statement piece full of texture, movement and personality. The large-scale jacquard print became the hero of the garment, carefully considered throughout the pattern layout to preserve the flow of the design.â
â
To allow the print to remain uninterrupted, the upper and lower bodice sections were merged into singular pattern pieces. The patch pockets were reversed for added depth and contrast, while the lighter side of the jacquard was chosen to make the coat wearable across more seasons.â
â
Itâs thoughtful sewing, creative problem solving and reimagining textiles like this that made the Rework What Exists Challenge so inspiring to watch unfold.â
â
Please help us congratulate Lou below â¨â
Weâve got one more winner to announce next week!

Could I be in my neutrals era? I sure hope not!
I am however in my military jacket era, currently obsessed. I have a more ambitious one on my shortlist (Viki Sews Avital) but when I came across this casual version (Coralie Bijasson - Nadine Jacket), I was sold and the fact I could make it from a pinwale corduroy remnant I had that hanging round in my stash was even better.
Paired with my recent @stylearc Sophia pants and new Rowie Top both from amazing designer deadstock from @themakersocietyaustralia These photos do not do the gold raffia knit on the top any justice so I will be reposting this soon.
One of our Rework What Exists Challenge winners đ¤â
â
Jackie Nicholson, aka @sewsewquickquicksew , completely embraced the spirit of this challenge by transforming pre-loved textiles into garments sheâll actually wear and love.â
â
A linen bedsheet became the Sophia Bubble Pant and a Reynolds Woven Top dress hack.â
Thrifted fabric became a bold Sid Bomber Jacket.â
â
And thatâs not all⌠Jackie spent the month reworking, reimagining and sewing throughout the entire challenge. Make sure to check out her page to see all of her incredible makes.â
â
This is exactly what we hoped to see through the challenge:â
Looking at what already exists with fresh eyes and turning it into something personal, creative and wearable.â
â
Thank you Jackie for sharing your creativity with the Style Arc community and reminding us that great sewing projects donât always start at the fabric store.â
â
Please help us congratulate Jackie below đ¤â
â
And stay tuned this week as we announce our two other Rework What Exists Challenge winners.â

Wearing practically pyjamas to work for the first workday of #memademay . Two of my new favourite patterns, WILL be making again.
Iâve had this fabulous corded cotton lace from @themakersocietyaustralia in my stash for quite a while, I only had 1m so was saving it for just the right pattern that would show it off and tbh require the least amount of cutting and stitching and the chasing butterflies @patternemporium_kate top was it.
Iâd also be desperate to try these @stylearc Sophia pants since Iâd hacked my Bob pattern and I can confirm 100% worth it! I am currently obsessed with Balloon Pants. I added an extra 20cm to the sides (front and back so 40cm in all) for the extra balloon and it was totally worth it. They move amazingly, the Temple twill suiting from @themakersocietyaustralia also helps!
Scrubs⌠but make them Style Arc.â
â
Meet the NEW Flossy Woven Scrub Set. Designed for movement, made for long days, and finished with the details that matter.â
â

⢠Chest pockets with pen openingâ
⢠Double yoke with box pleat for easeâ
⢠Durable bartacks and topstitching throughoutâ
â
And pants that work just as hard:â
⢠Elastic + drawstring waistâ
⢠Angled pockets with coin pocketâ
⢠Back + side leg pocketsâ
⢠Utility loops + internal fob pocketâ
⢠Optional elastic cuffâ
â
This is function, fit and personality in one.â
â
Sewn here in bold, joy-filled prints because workwear doesnât have to be boring.â
