I’m booked onto a fire and wire training day with @tonychristianstunts at his @theactionhouse facility next weekend, and wanted to make sure I had the right level of protection.
Having worked with fellow @britishstuntregister performer @robcbowen before, I knew he’d developed his own range of fire-retardant base layers through @stuntforge — Fire Armour.
After a chat with Rob, I placed an order and it arrived the next day. Fit is spot on, the material is lightweight and comfortable.

No performance Fuel Test - Just under a 1 minute burn, stationary with very little heat build up.
The type and temperature of fuel used for stunts burns is massively overlooked.

A "Full Burn" in stunts, relates to when a performers entire body is covered in fuel, including their chest. This transfers to the burn being much hotter and fire being in their face throughout their performance. Although being more visually impressive, this poses much more potential danger and discomfort for the performer.

Testing a new fuel developed by Stunt Forge - Low temperature oil based accelerant designed to appear like a petrol burn, without the dangers of petrol. Lots of thick black smoke!
Petrol is a highly volatile and potentially explosive fuel that burns very hot and is not suitable as a base for stunts burns.
