Queensland is BIG 🌏
Fun fact: The Great Barrier Reef covers 344,400 km² making it bigger than the UK, Switzerland and the Netherlands combined and it is so vast you can even see it from space.
And it’s not just big...it’s diverse.
For Pauline Ramos-Bezarrebollar that was the dream. Coming from Mexico, she had always wanted to explore and better understand the Reef and now she’s doing exactly that, studying corals and the marine environment up close.
From dream destination to real-life classroom.
Big landscapes. Real experiences. Endless reasons to choose Queensland.

It’s a beautiful place to live, learn and challenge yourself.

Hiring international talent helped the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA), one of Australia’s leading public art institutions, achieve something never before done in Australia.
Under former Head of Digital Morgan Strong, QAGOMA built a team that blends research, creativity and global expertise to transform how collections are digitised and experienced.
Through partnerships with Queensland universities, a PhD research internship evolved into Australia’s first AI Arts Technologist role embedding research directly into the gallery and turning it into real-world digital tools now used across QAGOMA.
“With international students, you get in-built diversity of voice and better outcomes,” Morgan says.
Queensland continues to connect international talent with industry, turning research into impact.

Some of the best classrooms in Queensland don’t have four walls.
In regional Queensland, studying means learning in tight-knit communities, gaining hands-on experience, and becoming part of the place you live.
Think smaller class sizes, real-world experience, and lecturers who know your name, all within a lifestyle that encourages connection and growth.
In regions like Toowoomba, you’ll be immersed in Australia’s ag-tech and agricultural hubs, where innovation and practical learning intersect in the field.
From ag-tech and sustainable agriculture to environmental studies, health, trade and regional schools, regional Queensland offers an education that’s shaped by its unique community and landscape.
For more than just a qualification, Queensland’s regions deliver valuable experiences that set you up for the future.
